I don't know about the rest of you but when I saw this episode the thing that got me the most was that Spock never got to make peace with his father.

Anyone else have a thought on that?

I think in a way he did, when Captain Picard allowed him to share Sarek's thoughts via the mind meld.

I agree. Jean-Luc also told Spock that Sarek had loved him and let him feel it via the mind meld in the end of the episode. So Spock made peace with his father and I also think that Sarek had forgiven Spock.

I never understood how they could have love...

Vulcans aren't emotionless, they repress their emotions. There's a difference.

Yeah, I think it was suggested that Spock wanted to make peace all these years but Sarek didn't go for the idea. But, when Spock and Picard do the mind meld he(Spock) realises that Sarek loved him and forgave him.

EDIT: basically what Mrs. Picard said :P

Agree with you on that, they did make peace.

I can't even imagine how horrible it would be to never be able to make peace with someone. It would be like a wound that never grows a scab over it. Wow, that was deep! I didn't know I could do that!
