  1. It was a matte painting of the Delta Vega industrial complex from the OS episode, um... er... Devil in the Dark?

That one was from Where No Man Has Gone Before, however it has been used and amended several times for different episodes. (The problems of a small budget!!)

  2. Serling was certainly the better writer/producer, but on the sole title of producer I am not sure who is the best.

In one way I want to vote for Roddenberry because his series has lived on into a film franchise and developed into new series of TV. However, the quality and length of the Twilight Zone show the genius of Serling.

  3. I'm not too sure. I think that there should be a few more TNG films because of the quality of the cast and the fact that it was arguably the most successful Trek series when it was on air.

After TNG finishes I would think that DS9 would get a film, so what I would do a the producer would be to make some Voyager TV movies, creating a series of feature length films for TV to play alongside the films at the cinema.

The reason I say this is because I feel there would be a bigger call for a DS9 film after TNG has finished, and by the time DS9 gets a few films then Enterprise will have finished and will be pushing for the next set of films.

  4. I miss the original crew the most from the movies but times change and I like the TNG films and crew who are almost as good!

I thought the death of the original Enterprise was the most dramatic in ST3.

  5. wait it changed? what did it look like?

It was a picture of the Delta Vega industrial complex just now, and before that I originally had a pic from TOS with the Enterprise in orbit of a red planet, then JUST the Enterprise and now I have a picture of the Enterprise firing phasers.

Even I find it confusing! :wow:

  6. The only high light for me was the Excelsior. The Genesis planet looked rubbish. Would have been better if filmed out on location, like in a real jungle and then the Arctic... i know, i know...budget etc etc. :)

While ST 3 was clearly done on a small budget when compared to ST1, I still believe that creativly it is one of the best films in the series. I thought that the planet looked a lot more realistic than the Genesis Cave in ST2 and the film has some of the best lines and scenes of any ST film. And of course we also have the best death scene in ST3 i.e. the death of the Enterprise, which I find very dramatic along with James Horner's fantastic score.

  7. My friend Roger and his friend Matt are huge fans of Monty Python, however, the humor seems to escape me. :o

A lot of the humour is related to events and topics of the time that it was made, therefore it is harder for fans of the show who either do not live in the UK or do not know much about the references that are made.

I have enjoyed all of the sci-fi series I have seen, Hitchhikers, Blake’s 7 etc and I'm not sure if they apply to this question but a film production co. called ITC did another fav of mine, Space 1999 and finally, I dig The Thunderbirds!

Never really a big fan of Space 1999 myself, as I always prefered the Gerry Anderson show called UFO instead. I too like Thunderbirds and I am also a fan of Captain Scarlett.

  8. I have BBC America on my satellite system.  And I have to say that I have enjoyed watching,  especially Absolutely Fabulous. I don't have a favorite show but I compare the production values of what I see.  And strange as it may sound, the one show I'm catching alot of are re-runs of the old Avengers series from the 1960's.  The ones that are in black and white.  That show was really ahead of its time.  I do think that British tv is still a bit stiff but at the same time, takes a lot of chances when it comes portraying attitudes and subjects, in other words, a little more guts and less pc.  I like that.

    Good Man!!! :o

  9. ^ Geez, I can hardly read that. Well, I'd say the dancing in the streets kinda proves our point. Powell is going to Syria, there won't be a war there (it seems some anti-war people are more eager for a Syrian war than pro-war people are) I think this is just tough love to get the middle east to shape up.

Yes, I too have always found it amusing how these extreme left wing protesters are motivated to protest against the current liberation of the Iraqi people, yet they are in favour of military action against Israel. Mind you these are probabily the same people who condemn Nazi Germany but at the same time have fond views of Communist Russia as the 'Great Experiment', even thought the reign of Stalin saw a greater number of death and genocide than any policy of Hitlers. :o

    Amusing indeed. :o

  10. I prefer a new series in late 24 or 25 century,

with a new starship, a new class, a new captain etc...

I think that a solution in the future is most better

    than a solution in past...

Also the TNG cast must stop filming (Movies) because the

Star Trek (TNG) start loosing the magic, and start a new

fresh cast in a new series and a new future for Movies.

A series set in the time I suggested would be set in the future and not in the past, unless you live in the fantasy world of Star Trek.

  11. I would like to see a show set in the time of The Motion Picture with another starship of the same class as the Enterprise (perhaps a USS Intrepid), anyway it would be cool to see the model of the refit Enterprise or one like it heading a series and there could be the ones with four nacels as well, like the ship in Peak Performance. That would be cool.

  12. I am really curious, does tos group still do public appearances?  I cant seem to find any sort of informantion on conventions... or schedules, what i do find is very limited.. I am partiularly interested in Leonard Nimoy. Does anyone know if he still travels for conventions, I know I read recently that he doesnt go far from his home inCA for any length of time-for work...  so any info would be appreciated...  thanks, linda620

Leonard was at the Vegas convention last year, I was lucky to see him because I went on holiday with my family and found out about it in the hotel room, hence they had to spend the day with me there, which is good considering that my dad is not a fan (although I think he is secretly).

I know that Shatner does quite a lot of conventions, but I have no idea about Mr Nimoy. I would suggest that you try to catch one with Leonard because he is a good speaker with the odd joke thrown in, but I found that the actress who plays Janeway was the best on stage, and while I am not a big fan of Voyager or her character I really enjoyed listening to her.

  13. To all those people who have not seen the TOS films, I would really recommend them because they are great. I would say they are more films for film fans than the TNG ones but definatily worth a go.
