  1. Voyager hit its stride when it got rid of Kes ... I didn't much like Seven of Nine, though. It's just that Neelix was so much less annoying when Kes was out of the picture. I never really bought their relationship anyway and it was excruciating to watch Neelix being Johnny One Note during just about every episode .... "Are YOU looking at Kes, Paris? Huh? Huh?" Dumb.

I must remind you that Kes broke up with Neelix in season 3. Therefore you can't blame Kes for Neelix's behavior.

I don't think that Neelix's behavior should serve as some sort of excuse for the rude and brutal treatment TIIC gave the character Kes and Jennifer Lien.

Kes was a great character who had deserved to remain in the series.

  2. Voyager the weakest series? No, I don' think so. Not in the first three seasons when the series had some really good episodes. It became weaker in seasons 4-7 when it was turned into The Seven Of nine Show but it still beats Enterprise without problem.

When Voyager was at its best, in seasons 1-3 it was as good as TNG and better than DS9 and TOS. Voyager had the best main characters, the best premise of any Star Trek series and good episodes overall, especially in season 2.

Voyager's problems were a lot of continuity errors, bad writing (in the later seasons) plus the fact that it didn't really live up to it's premise. But still, it's a very good series.

  4. It was a stupid decision to bring in Seven of Nine.

Voyager already had 9 great characters. They didn't need a new character.

I didn't find Seven particularily good as a character. A woman in a catsuit and high heels on a spaceship! The "sex thing" was too obvious.

The worst thing was that the best character was kicked out to make room for Seven.

Seven was only added as a sex symbol to attract male teenage kids who didn't watch Star Trek series. They might have attracted such fans but also lost many loyal fans who didn't like the changes for different reasons (the rude firing of Jennifer Lien, too much focus on the "sexy" character and such).

Besides that, Voyager became a laughing stock among many SF-fans because of the "sexy" character.

  5. Voyager's best season was Season 2. All episodes were great, except for "Threshold" and "Threshold" was actually watchable and a bit funny compared to some of the episodes in the later seasons.

Season 1 was also great and Season 3 too. It had some interesting premises for the future.

Unfortunately everything was ruined when the best character (Kes) was kicked out and her replacement took over the show.

  6. Honestly, I think that the best they could come up with is a movie with characters from all three series, TNG, DS9 and Voyager. There would be something in it for fans of all series which will probably draw more spectators than a movie for just one of the series.

  7. Kes is best!

    "Have you seen her face?

    With her eyes reflect

    The colors in the sky

    On one familiar place

    To be swept into

    Whenever she’s close by

    Makes me wonder why

    Run by, don’t turn back

Can’t hide from the look in her eye"

    "Have You Seen Her Face?"

    The Byrds

  8. Voyager lost its soul when Kes was kicked out.

Kes was a great character. She was beautiful, nice and friendly but also brave, strong-willed, curious and determined. What more can you ask for? She personified the spirit of Star Trek. And Jennifer Lien is an excellent actress.

Seven, on the other hand was a one-dimensional character. She was brought in as a "sex symbol" to attract tenage kids who normally didn't watch the show and she was made the big star of the show with all episodes concentrated on her. I found her rather boring and the way The Idiots In Charge pushed her down our throats by focusing everything on her while the other characters were reduced to nothing but moving images in the background was sickening.

If they absolutely had to bring in a new character they could at least have kept all the original characters. But TIIC were to stupid, narrow-minded and greedy to figure out such a solution.

Instead they had to kick out Kes in that crappy episode "The Gift" and later they insulted all the Kes fans by ruining the character in "Fury".

Voyager died when Kes was kicked out and the way Jennifer Lien and the character Kes was treated is nothing but a shame and disgust for Star trek and Paramount.
