  1. As a human being I felt the loss of the nearly 3000 people on 9/11. I didn't lose anyone in the events, but I don't have to, to feel a sense of sadness of the horrible events. End of the day. I remember the events, I remember the people who were murdered. But I will never the callous bastards who murdered so freely, in a country which afforded them the freedom which they in turn betrayed.

  2. I received an email from a dear friend at the BBC, and on their internal office gateway news on Doctor who was written. My friend therefore sent it to me. Here are the bullet points

    - Dr who has a fourth season, Catherine Tate is to be the companion taking over from Freema Agyeman's companion, for 13 episodes, Freema's character is in 4.

-Kylie Minogue is the special guest in the Christmas special.

    - 2008 is going to be the last full season until 2010.

    - 2009, David Tennant and Russell T. Davis return for 3 specials.

    - 2010, new Doctor, new producer too. Other information is not forthcoming at the moment.

  3. Sounds crazy but after reading some of the stuff I have about Shatner being less than a stellar person, I think I would boycott if he was in it. I don't like watching aging lothario's who treat people poorly.l I think the decision to leave him out of the film was a constientious idea to prevent him getting at the younger Kirk, and possibly preventing soe major friction. He is not always a professional type of guy. HE may not appreciate the idea that his role as the ever bounding energetic young captain is being supplanted by some one who actually fulfills the categories and isn't just a shadow or shell of the character he once protrayed. IMHO.

  4. So true. Its an (according to my more well read up best friend) existensial frame of thought. It is actuall one I carry normally. We all have lives which is in popular thought, thought of as one journey. However, I feel that we acctually have many separate journeys which make the bigger picture, sorta like a jigsaw puzzle or a building in a picxture of a skyline say, take one part out of either and it is a radically different effect.

That thought also is the reason why ever 8 or so months I sit still and take stock of my own life, see what I have done, where I am going and what I do and don't like aabout my life to change it. Its a key reason why depression doesn't seem to rear its head as large as it used to.

  5. Forget the phrase: Don't sweat technology. Sweat and technology = a bad combination.

I can't believe these people risking their lives for their *$#@ cell phones. Buy a new phone!

I don't know how you could think it would still work, ether. Most cell phones I have seen can't take a 3 foot fall, let alone being submerged for a prolonged time...

Sony Ericsson K750i and K800i both can endure beig dropped and kicked up a wall (That wasn't intentionall btw) I have done it to both and they both keep on ticking. Then again sony seems to build things realising you are likely to drop it at some point and therefore build their goods with that in mind. *Sings praises elsewhere*

  8. Does any of this sound ok?

Information Technology Skills:I am proficient in most Microsoft Office 2003 programs including Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Power-point and Outlook, with cursory familiarity with InfoPath as well. I am also familiar with Adobe Dreamweaver (Web design) SPSS, a statistical package frequently used during my psychology practical units, and various types of browser format. These skills have been proven during my University educational career via presentations and projects and assessments. In my spare time I build websites, which began as a project for university and is now maintained as an amateur project. I try to keep up to date in the 'digital revolution'.

    Communication:

Work Based: In a work environment communication is imperative. In dealing with customers one of the most important parts of communication is listening to what the customer required. The experience held from working in both Catering and retail fields is to effectively communicate with the customer/client to understand their needs and act on them appropriately. These skills can and were effectively transferred and utilised in a variety of areas of life, jobs and university.

University Based: During University some of the most important skills were effective presentation and utilisation of technology. One of the most important skills learnt was to keep the information succinct and simple.

Team work: During both my University career and during my working career teamwork has been an integral part. Ensuring that a team works smoothly and effectively in pursuit of its goals is important to the success of the team. Time management and understanding and planning for other member responsibilities or issues, as well as well as consideration for others were just a few of the most important skills learnt.

Other areas of competence are in being flexible in terms of dealing with problems when they arise and also in terms of time and also being able to keep a cool, rational head in the face of pressure, set backs or when dealing with provocative situations.
