  1. no its not unacheivable, but the first thing people have to do is to realize that everyone is different, and to accept that people have different ideas and feelings. to accept, and to embrace these differences in us all, is the first thing that needs to be done. if you dont like something someone else is doing, or how they are, accept it as a difference and leave it at that. this world IS big enough for us all. its a long ways off, but its dooable. well thats how i feel about it anyway.

  2. yes STV was like a big ol' brain fart. but they made up for it with VI that was a good movie. but in its defense there was a couple of ok parts in V just not enough to make it a continual watcher. personally i think GENERATIONS was a brain fart too. at least the motion picture had an excuse it was their first attempt at movie, and first time together in years. what was GENERATIONS excuse, they already had good writers in place, had lots of time together, and plenty of experience. well thats my thought anyway.

  3. i too agree the war with the dominion was a great script idea. but i loved DS9 from the beginning. between TNG, VOY, AND DS9, DS9 was my favorite. it had everything startrek has, without the hokey, opptomism. it added a realm of reality to the show, (like, yeah that would really happen in todays world). i love the world RODDNEBERRY created, i wish we could live in a world like his, but thats not gonna happen today, hopefully in the future. all the shows were ok, but DS9 was the best, till now its a toss up between DS9, AND ENT. but of course any true startrek fan loves TOS, it was the first, and the best. here in my order of greatness are-

    TOS, OF COURSE

    DS9, ENT

    TNG

    VOY

  4. Yes, In Purgatory's Shadow was part 1 of that 2 part episode. That was a great 2 parter too. The second part is called By Inferno's Light. They are from season 5. There's a quote from that episode that I love.

Sisko to Worf on the outset of Worf and Garraks mission to search for Tain in "In Purgatory's Shadow"

Sisko: "I Suppose I don't have to tell you to keep a close eye on him."

Worf: "At the first sign of betrayal I will kill him, but I promise to return the body intact."

    Sisko: "I assume that's a joke?"

    Worf: "We will see."

dang!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my wifes always telling me to shut up when were watching tv, i always start saying what their gonna say before they do, she hates it, but i couldnt just recall the name of an episode then a specific quote from it, i :tear: to your greatness. :D

  5. i think ENT is an excellent show with some, mind you some, quirks. but then again almost any show you watch or have watched has something wrong with it. "YOU CAN PLEASE SOME OF THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME, AND ALL THE PEOPLE SOME OF THE TIME, BUT YOU CANT PLEASE ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME".

tis so true. but yeah i agree STARGATE IS GREAT. has a perfect blend of humor, and action, and pretty much everything. ENTERPRISE is working its way there too. i think they need a couple of characther changes. and a new one kinda like MCCOY, or SPOCK. TPOL is kinda like spock but not punny enough.( i know its not a word, but you know what i mean).

  6. lol glad u like Stargate too!

that TNG was boring and not that great to start off with... so how come they stuck with it all that time?    I'm not judging anyone, just curious as to what it was that made people tune in week after week...

I mean, if i don't enjoy something i turn it off, like i did with 'Taken', i watched the first one and a half but i was so bored i changed channel, but all of my friends watched it all and thought it was absolutely amazing - maybe this flaws my character and i should actually give things more of a chance to develop... hmmm

i actually didnt watch all along, i occasionally tuned in to see if it was getting better, or it there was nothing else on tv. then it eventually did get better. as far as voyager i didnt watch a whole lot of that, occasionally i checked it out, then watched what i could of the last season to see if it would at least end on a high note, how very very disapointed i was. what a way to end the show, they shouldve at least had one more episode after getting back to see how things turned out. as far as TAKEN goes you shouldve given it a little bit more of a chance, it was pretty good, but im sure you'll have another chance sometime. but hey, everyones got their right to a choice, and that variety of people, and opinions is what makes this country so very interesting, and great.

    GOD BLESS AMERICA

  7. when Docter Phlox dies

what do you mean when phlox dies. he's great. although i think a new human nurse is a good idea. someone phlox to interact with more, and maybe have arguments over treatment ideas, and methods.you always need a nurse. as far as hoshi, i agree she is way too whiney and weak. she needs a major turn around in characther or be killed off. also t'pol, and tucker, in my opinion as well feed well off eachother, as did MCCOY, AND SPOCK, they were the best but i feel that ENT does well too.

  8. Its simply down to the fact that TOS never had the budget to create a recurring alien race that used too much make-up. The way I think about the issue is just to ignore it and focus on the quality of the script, which is the most important thing!

here here, i agree totally. it was just a budget issue. anyway makeup effect back in the 60s were probably about as bad as the special effects. RODENBURY probably had a lot more to worry about than makeup anyway, just getting the show produced and on the air took a lot for him. i think you just need to sit back, relax, and enjoy all that is star trek. anyway if you really look at it ENTERPRISES bridge is supposed to be older, and more anitquated thatn TOS, but its not, it looks hundreds of years more advanced than TOS. they work with what they have at hand, and what is most practical too.

  9. I'm glad that someone else on here seems to like SG-1 too (Captain Jean-Luc Picard)

to start out, I LOVE STARGATE SG-1  it is hands down the best adaptation of a movie to series i've ever seen, from the first episode on, they started right out from the end of the movie so you know right where you are through the whole series, i have all of season one, and two on dvd,(anyone know when season 3 is coming out)it has perfect blend of humor, action, and story :D . its great. well on to the subject at hand, i thought TNG was disapointing for a few seasons. and the outfits HA, deana troi looked like an intergalactic cheerleader at first. then after a few years it started picking up and i enjoyed watching it. ESPECIALLY the last couple of seasons, by then i was sorry to see it leave. DS9 :bow::hand: i loved from the begining, after all TNG took all the hits and helped the writers and creators to see what worked, and what didnt. i love DS9, and i cant wait till i can start buying the seasons on DVD.(currently laid off, cant spend the money) its been so long since i could watch DS9 it'll be like the first time for me. voyager :( on the other hand i thought i could get into, but i just couldnt do it, i tried and tried and tried, but JANEWAY was an UNBELEIVEABLE character, along with some others but hers the most. to me the CAPTAINS first responsibility is to his crew and his ship. she clearly didnt think that way otherwise she would've done whatever she had too, within reason to get her crew and ship home. she cared way way to much about the prime directive, whereas im sure no one would've held it against her to fracture that a little to get home. ENTERPRISE ;) is my new favorite, i like everything from the theme SONG, to the ENTERPRISE,its a sharp looking ship. T'POL is HOTHOTHOT. yeah it needs a little tweeking to come around but i think its got a really good start, i just hope it goes for the long haul. of course TOS :D:hand:;):wow: started it all, and theres nothing more to say but it was hokey, campy, pretty bad acting at times, but it was great and i wouldnt of changed a thing, i still enjoy watching it on SCIFI channel when i get the chance. (SCIFI channel is the best thing since TOS, many great shows on it).

  10. Oh, and me and my friends played in our back yard, i was Data, i had my phaser and tricorder  i got for christmas in 1993, man am i old.

ok now you can stop anytime, im only 31 and you talking about pretending to be data, making you feel old is making me feel ancient. aahhhgggg stop already lol.

Well we could always hope he was 20 when he was playing in his backyard. ;)

yeah i could go for that, or better yet 30 :D , but that might be a little weird if ya think about it. lol

  11. Oh, and me and my friends played in our back yard, i was Data, i had my phaser and tricorder  i got for christmas in 1993, man am i old.  :wow:

ok now you can stop anytime, im only 31 and you talking about pretending to be data, making you feel old is making me feel ancient. aahhhgggg stop already lol. i never pretended to be anybody but TOS will ALWAYS be the one and only. i loved watching it. i loved the movies even better. TOS made the best movies till FIRST CONTACT came out. but first contact still dont have the feel of TOS movies. i think the stories, and how their screen presence was, is still the best. you cant beat the original. sequal, and now prequal series are great, but again TOS started it all, and without that corny, sometime bad acting series, it wouldnt be the same USA, that we live in today.

  12. well i guess ill add my short story on startrek. i started watching it as a kid too. but my watching ws TOS, reruns of course im not that old. lol. my grandma was very religious, and didnt let any of us kids, and grandkids watch much of anything, but she loved startrek. so i so looked forward to startrek just to be able to watch tv at grams house. as i watched the more i loved it. im a big scifi fan. starwars startrek babylon 5

STARGATE SG1-about my favorite show of all time. but my love for startrek will always take me back to the 70's at grams house, and as long as that happens, ill always watch startrek, and whatever films, or series they come out with. i hope to someday soon watch it with my children, then grand children. oh well what a sap i am. LONG LIVE STARTREK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LIVE LONG AND PROSPER

    :wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:

  13. I seen it twice. once at theatres, and once on a flight to California. i was shocked at the movie choice for inflight movie. But it gave me a chance to see it again, and appreciate it a little more. i was a little disapointed in the movie since i think that the movies should progressively get better, and i dont think that was the case. my favorite tng movie is FIRST CONTACT. but this was definately second best of the tng crew. i did enjoy shinzon, and his warbird. real cool. the ideas were there, but i dont think they pulled it all together the way they could've and should've. but thats one mans opinion. also of course ill be buying it on DVD when it comes out. i got my big screen and my surround sound. better than the theatres to a point. just not as big a screen. someday lol.

  14. ENTERPRISE, because it is the one currently showing new episodes.

thats great. i love enterprise. :wow: but when its showing reruns,(hopefully not for another 5 years or so). which show do you like as a whole, over the other ones. :wow:

  15. I think i would have to go with DS9, i think you have lots of excitement, between being on the frontlines of the war, many NEW aliens coming through the wormhole, and you have the stability of being in the same place where all the excitement comes to you. plus you dont have quark, or odo on a starship. they were great characters.

  16. now in regards to voting for TOS, i am a big fan of TOS :) :) but as i said at the top post, when i iniciated this poll, that i left that out, just for the simple fact TOS started it all, and it should have a place with all trekkies, trekkers whichever you prefer, so therefore i left it out as a given. as a side note im glad to see a couple of votes each for my two faves DS9, and ENT. so you can vote whichever you want, but if you wish to add a side not of TOS, thats great too.

  17. i live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada!!!!!

i just got home from SAULSBURY fire aparatus, near syracuse NY, where id seen 11 fire trucks in different phases of construction, all bound for EDMONTON. its a small universe after all.

they were BEAUTIFUL TRUCKS i tell ya
