  1. Looks like my tomcat Jack (short for "One Eyed Jack").

I adopted him after some boys shot his eye out with a bb gun.I found him under my porch, half-starved and hurting from that eye wound. That was several months ago. He's monsterous huge now. I guess I feed him too much. But he still acts like a big baby.

  2. but still basically the same God

and in the Anne Rice novels, no symbol hurts a vampire

    You're right.

I just thought I Am Legend was kind of neat, doing that.

When reading the book I didn't expect it.

Now-a-days, with movies like Blade and others, screenwriters have tried to totally eliminate religious relics of any kind from harming Vampires. Just sunlight & silver, mostly.

  3. Not too much.

    Very bored.

Just finished playing around with numerous codes and hacks at Invisionfree support, just to see what they'd do on my test board. The better codes I added to my sites, the others I discarded.

Found an awesome custom skin but had to get rid of it. It was animated...really nice. But it slowed down my PC

As soon as I deleted it, my PC's transwarp drive speed came back.

    Too bad.I loved that skin....(sigh)*

  4. I never cared for the Enterprise Vulcans.

Yes, the Vulcans are still evolving, but they should be closer to Spock and farther away from what we see on Enterprise in the Ent timeline.

I still have a problem with Vulcans actively spying on the Andorians in a fortified temple, and doing so many of the other things we saw on Enterprise.

    Just my Op'.

  5. I'm looking for a site where I can burn music for free (really free, no credit card trials or that stuff). I haven't found any good ones. Just places with midi files that sound like some kid playing a cheap radioshack keyboard... :(

    Anyone have a recommended site?

(I'm looking for the Beatles...I'm not sure their downloads will be easy to find...not for free, anyway).

  6. Something new has been happening.

    Water is appearing everywhere.

There are wet spots on the carpets (no pets in the house, and all the people are house trained :) ), water dripping from the ceiling in my room (it hasn't rained, and an inspection of the attic turned up a small puddle of water-source unknown), every day (for the past 3 or 4) rolls of TP (toilet paper) have gotten soaked clean through on the spool (no water near them). The sink in the bathroom fills up to overflowing without the taps being on (there is no leak) during the night, and when my nephew went to bed last night, there was a large wet spot on his mattress.

I'm thinking of borrowing a friend's camcorder and placing it in the bathroom to catch the sink filling up. :(

As usual nothing scary, just annoying.

  7. I've been spending way too much time online these past few months.

I just noticed over the past couple of days that I hardly spend any of my free time with my family here at home anymore (well, I am physically here, but behind this monitor and keyboard I may as well be away, if you know what I mean).

I'm starting to miss watching movies with my family, and reading to them and just "hanging out"....

So, while I will come online very briefly to peek in at my own websites from time to time, I'll be away from STF for a while.

    Take care and God bless.

    Your brother in Christ,

    Adm.PW

  8. A local high school offered an elective class called "Star Trek: Ethics of the 24th Century" several years ago. It caused a small stir of media interest but that was about it. And it was offered only the one school year.

Some parents who examined some of the course material said it was brainwashing their kids with "liberal" ideas.

I remember wishing they'd had the class when I was in high school. It would've been the only class I managed an "A" in.

  9. "I Want to Know You More"

    by Sonic Flood

In the secret, in the quiet place

In the stillness You are there

In the secret, in the quiet hour

    I wait only for You

Cause, I want to know You more

    Chorus:

    I want to know You

I want to hear Your voice

I want to know You more

    I want to touch You

I want to see Your face

I want to know You more

I am reaching for the highest goal

That I might receive the prize

Pressing onword, pushing every hindrance aside

    Out of my way

Cause, I want to know You more

    Chorus

(not spam... my lyrics lounge posts are days apart)*

  10. Checking out the new DVDs I just bought.

I was browsing the aisles at a dollar store and found a stack of great old horror films.

    I got the following:

    "I Eat Your Skin"

    "Scared to Death"

    "The Devil Bat"

    "The Phantom Creeps"

    "The Invisible Ghost"

    "The Ghost Walks"

They cost fifty cents each and they work fine.

There were a few others I didn't buy. I'm going back tomorrow for the others.

  11. There's a little store near my house owned by some guy named "Jedi Mike".

He has a lot of Trek action figures and other sci-fi collectibles (I buy Puppetmaster action figures from him).

But he really inflates the prices, since he knows the merchandise he sells is hard to come by.

Most of the Trek action figures are priced between $20 and $45 dollars a piece. (I've never seen one cheaper than 20, but have seen plenty more expensive than 45) :frusty:

I think another local store, "Heroes Cards & Collectibles", also has a few Enterprise action figures in stock. I'll check. Heroes isn't as bad as some comic/collectible stores about price gouging.

  12. I found this alternate design for the TOS-era single-nacelled "destroyer" earlier tonight, and thought it looked really cool. I'm thinking about starting my first new Trek fanfic series in quite a while, and base it on this ship. It's awesome. :frusty:

  13. "Overjoyed"

    Jars of Clay.

I actually never liked contemporary Christian music. My CD collection had a single Contemporary Christian album (Kirk Franklin "Stomp") until recently.

I just started listening to K-LOVE radio online and was like "Hey, this music is pretty good." :frusty:

Now, it's about the only thing I do listen to.

  14. I was at the grocery store earlier today and some guy walked over to me,gave me a bear hug and started talking about how great it was to see me after all these years, how much fun we had had in high school, and telling me what he'd been up to since graduation (he went directly to college,I went into the Army). He acted as if I were his long lost brother........

    :frusty:

Problem was I had no idea who he was.

Though he obviously knew me, and had obviously gone to school with me since I remember some of the things he mentioned and some of the names he dropped.

So to avoid the embarrassment of saying "Who are you?" I just smiled and nodded and shook his wife's hand and spoke only when necessary and in the most general terms.

    Apparently it worked.

After a few minutes his wife prodded him along and I was just sort of like.... B) "Who the heck was that?"

  15. :assimilated:

    Wow.....really? Nine out of ten?

I guess I wasn't paying attention earlier yesterday when I logged in here for a few minutes.

I would talk more Trek, but with Enterprise gone, and no new movies or anything, it's kind of hard to come up with topics that haven't already been posted a hundred different ways.

I sometimes actually feel guilty when I come here, make some posts and then realize that nothing I posted on was Trek related. :blush 2:

I don't want to be branded a Trek blasphemer, but maybe the board should consider developing into a general science fiction community?

    Trek,Star Wars,Battlestar Galactica,Stargate,etc....

:P (I'm probably going to get hammered for that suggestion...oh oh)

  16. Lyrics to the Andy Griffith show theme

    "Fishin' Hole"

Well, now, take down your fishin pole and meet me at the fishin hole,

We may not get a bite all day, but don’t you rush away.

What a great place to rest your bones and mighty fine for skippin stones,

You’ll feel fresh as a lemonade, a-settin in the shade.

Whether it’s hot, whether it’s cool, oh what a spot for whistlin like a fool.

What a fine day to take a stroll & wander by The fishin hole,

I can’t think of a better way to pass the time o’ day.

We’ll have no need to call the roll when we get to The fishin hole,

There’ll be you, me, and Old Dog Trey, to doodle time away.

If we don’t hook a perch or bass, we’ll cool our toes in dewy grass,

Or else pull up a weed to chaw, and maybe set and jaw.

    Hangin around, takin our ease,

watchin that hound a-scratchin at his fleas.

Come on, take down your fishin pole and meet me at The fishin hole,

I can’t think of a better way to pass the time o’ day.

What can I say? It's one of my favorite tv shows.

There are times I think I'd love moving my family to the fictional town of Meyberry. :assimilated:

  17. Everyone in my family (except for my father and me) has a Biblical name (you know, Joseph's, Sarah's, Joshua's, Michael's, etc).

I am a Jr, which has never sat well with my oldest brother who thinks my dad should have made him the "Jr"....but at the time,my dad said he didn't want a jr.It was not until he was in his mid-40s and I came along that he changed his mind.
