  1. There is an approved list of names?

I believe the Swedish government has approval over the names parent choose for their children. A little odd but it does prevent parents saddling their children with some ridiculous name (see Moon Unit, Apple, Moxy Crimefighter, etc).

Didn't Nicolas Cage name his kid "JorEl" after Superman's Krypton Name?

No, he named him "Kal-El" which is actually Superman's real Kryptonian name.

That's right. Jor-El was his father's name. Thanks for straightening me out on that.

  2. Jolene Blalock (T'Pol) will be in the new movie called Slow Burn, in limited release April 13th.

I remember seeing her in an episode of JAG a few years ago. She played a Marine who got a tattoo that the Corps wasn't happy about.

  4. I've lost many pets over the years. While I loved them more than I love some humans, I'm still never going to kick my own bucket over one of them. When death is near, you try to prepare yourself as best as you can. You convince yourself that it's the humane thing to do when you have them put down. No one, pet or human, should ever have to needlessly suffer.

  5. I think that the gun torrents gave it a BSG look and feel to it. If they're going to give it a newer look, CGI will come up with a sleeker look than this drawing does. I wish there were more drawings to go with this one.

I would be interested to see them.

  6. This bogus drawing of the new Enterprise from ST-XI was posted on the internet and was quickly debunked as a hoax. It's pretty sad looking.

  7. I think what I like most about the remastered TOS Episodes is the fact that they're drawing new fans to the genre. There are people watching now that didn't before and some wouldn't have watched it for anything.

The Fan Base is growing and it continuing to grow.

Which is a very good thing.

  8. Interesting. But only if they're a non-profit type of organization, right? Wouldn't they have to be in order to accept donations?

They CAN NOT take monetary donations as accepting money of any kind violates their agreement with CBS/Paramount--which outlines their use of the Star Trek francise in an amateur not-for-profit production. They do take gift cards from Home Depot and like places, as well as donations of items for the sets and filming. They have a wish list on their site. They don't send out dvd copies except as acknowlegement to people who donate. Distrubution of dvds violates their agreement. They also can not charge people to see their films at conventions or other venues.

The first episode, In Harm's Way is available from their mirror sites in dvd file format. TSAMD is not yet, and they have promised a special edition, with vintage commercials and a surprise, when they release the dvd formatted files. They prefer you wait for the official dvd version to be released on their site before making a dvd.

However, if you can't wait you can visit their forums there are many good discussions on how to convert the files to a format which will burn on a dvd. Then you miss out on the special edition with the surprise!

    Thank you for the clarification.
