Chiefs. (Please stop me from cursing) Vermeil is on plan.
Here is a hard one, I have to go with (Please stop me from cursing) V, my all time favorite coach.VBG,
I don't think he is the all time best, but he is a sentimental favorite for me.
-
One of my all time favorites is Black and White and SilentFritz Langs Meropolis.
the story is gripping and for the time the 1920's the SFX where way above its time and as for stand the test of time it has one of the most enduring images of 20th century Sci-fi the robot Maria.
If I were to limit this thread to silent films, I would have to choose "Nosferatu". The silent aspect of this movie makes it even more eerie. Possibly the best vampire film ever made.

Which coach did the best job in the NFL this year? I think any of the coaches I have listed in the poll are viable candidates.
(Please stop me from cursing) Vermeil has the Chiefs playing the best of any team in the league.
Bill Parcells has made the Cowboys winners with what most experts would agree is a team with very little talent.
Marvin Lewis has turned the Bengals around. (That might make him coach of the decade!)
John Fox has the Panthers playing solid football. They may be the best team in the NFC at this point.
Andy Reid? I think most casual fans would have a hard time naming any Eagles players aside from McNabb. Yet they are in first place in their division.
Brian Billick started the season with a rookie QB starting. The Ravens have a legit chance to win their division. You have to give some credit to coaching under those circumstances.
As for Bill Belichick, you only have to watch the Patriots play to appreciate the fine job he does. That team is usually well-prepared for anybody. And Belichick's play-calling is masterful.
I will select my pick in a few weeks. Just thought I would throw this out for anyone who already has an opinion.

What was the best movie filmed in black & white ever made? For purposes of this thread, let us exclude more current movies which were filmed in black & white for effect (i.e. "Young Frankenstein" and "Schindler's List").
My choice would be "Citizen Kane". For a movie made in the late 40's, it has withstood the test of time quite well.

Riker. Without my beard, Scotty.

If it's a Person - Janice RandIf it's a Thing - Holodeck
If it's a person - Data.
If it's technology - Data.
That's sounds right to me, too! If I couldn't have Data then I would chose:
For a person - Lore
For technology - Lore
Just go get Brent Spiner and be done with it!
I would settle for a nice little starship that is equipped with a holodeck and replicator!

When I was watching the "Enterprise" episode "Carpenter Street", I had a thought: When Archer was given the choice of taking only one crew member with him on the mission (for which he did not know what dangers he might face), he chose T'pol. Faced with a similar choice, who from their crews would the other Trek captains have chosen?
My opinion:
TOS: Kirk would have chosen Spock. Kind of a no-brainer.
TNG: I think Picard would have chosen Data. Picard just seemed to have great loyalty and respect for Data.
DS9: IMO, Sisco would pick Dax (either host).
VOY: Janeway would pick Tuvok.
I made the DS9 and VOY choices based on the fact that both captains had known those crewmembers longer than their other crewmembers, so they had built up a greater amount of trust and loyalty over time.

The PC Police strike again! :cops:
What I would like to see is all the computer manufacturers ignoring this moron. Then what would L.A. County do? Get rid of all their computers?
-
Oh Mighty Commissioner Takara, I beseech thee: Please let me drop Forsberg and add Markus Nasland. I would be ever so grateful. :(
On to other matters. How the Sam Houston did I end up in first place? I know I have plenty of experience in fantasy sports, but I know squat about hockey. I guess this proves it is not what you know, but what resources you know!

I gave it a 7.5. It was good, not great.
One thing that occurred to me during the episode: I forgot Scott Bakula's name (I had to ask my wife). He has done such a good job in this role that I now think of him as Archer.

38.
I have always found it strange that people refuse to give their age. I suspect it is because our culture worships youth. It is a shame considering we tend to learn more from old people than we do from the young. But that's another thread.

Chiropractors are kind of like psychics: They might make you feel better for awhile, but they don't fix the underlying problems which made you feel bad in the first place.
Notice that most people who swear by chiropractors have to keep going back for "readjustments".
I would sooner go to a tribal witch doctor.

I have always been partial to "The Natural". It truly captures the mystique of baseball.
"Field of Dreams" is a close second, although IMO I see that as more about father-son relationships.
-
Heinlein's book "Red Planet" got me interested in sci-fi. "Star Wars" made me an avid sci-fi fan.

Enterprise and 24.

Dukat was insane. And one of the finest bad guys Star Trek has ever seen.
-
Funny, yet poignant.

Good movie.

I too don't think the prime directive would have been an issue.Click for Spoiler:
if anything this natural cultural development had already been interfered withspeaking of cultural development
Click for Spoiler:
is it realistic that the culture would have remained absolutely stagnant for 300 years - clothing, technology - something would have changed in 300 yearsTrip
Click for Spoiler:
back to being the comic interlude - okay his bit about the horse "how hard can it be?" was amusing but I don't like the dumb and goofy Trip. What is everyone's thoughts about the "message" they were trying to send? Is it possible that will tie into the Xindi Arc?
I think it would have been a borderline Prime Directive issue.
Click for Spoiler:
These humans had been removed forcibly from their race and overcome their captors. Afterwards, they developed their own culture (even if it was just returning to the way of life they had known prior to their capture).Regarding cultural development:
Click for Spoiler:
I think the episode mentioned there were only about 6000 of them. Not a whole lot of population for any kind of significant cultural development. As for Trip, I like his humorous side. It was nice to see it after his depression about his sister's death.
Finally, I think this was just a departure from the Xindi arc.
I gave "North Star" a rating of 10 because it was a great episode.Kay,
a 10? It was good but not that good. I gave it an 8.5. A 10 would be reserved for "classics" (i.e. "City on the Edge of Forever" or "Best of Both Worlds").

T'pol. There is something extra sexy about a woman who is logical on the surface, but very passionate underneath. :)
-
This episode made me think: What would the other Trek captains have done? I think they would have done a lot of worrying about the Prime Directive. In the end, they probably would have done the same thing as Archer, although I would welcome alternative theories.

Glad to see Combs back as Shran.

Eh, Trip won't be killed off mid-season, that never happens unless the actor has conflict with the producers. However, when season comes to an end or begins... then we're in trouble! :o
Anywho, my impression from the trailer is that Trip dies and is replaced by a clone. If this happens, woud the clone really be Trip even if, by some miracle, it has his memories and so forth? Oh man, just thinking about it is exciting! I am so gonna avoid spoilers for this one!
Have you forgotten Tasha Yar? :o
NFC picks for the Superbowl
in Parrises Squares Court

Any of these teams could win the NFC. I picked the Seahawks only because they have the strongest offense. I know defense wins championships, but I don't expect any of these teams to beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Anyhow, all of these teams have defensive holes.
