Cool! (and perhaps a Lt. JG rank could be made?)

They're so muh better, aren't they? I've seen them, I just can't own them, yet.

hahahaha, nice

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Aug. 6) - Officials say an indigenous New Zealand reptile regarded as one of the last living remnants of the dinosaurs will become a father for the first time in decades at the age of 111.Henry the tuatara and his younger mate Mildred produced a dozen eggs last month after mating at the Southland Museum on New Zealand's South Island in March.
Tuatara curator Lindsay Hazley said Wednesday Henry has lived at the museum's special enclosure for Tuatara since 1970 and had shown no interest in sex until he recently had a cancerous growth removed from his genitals. He was now enjoying the company of three females and might breed again next March.

Oh COOL! Now THAT sounds fun!!!!!

I was born with no hair, and after two years it started growing and it was blonde, then it slowly turned brown, and after that faded to black. For the past several years the black has had more and more tints of red in it...
So, I voted black, at least for the moment (by the way, it's natural....never been dyed).

Hey, it's been a LONG time (and I've only done it twice before) but I participated this week! I answered all 10 and I'm pretty confident about 90% of them. Anyway, I had two questions...
A.) Why is there no Lt. JG rank?
B.) what is each question worth? I seem to remember they used to have varied point values.
Thanks, guys!

Ahahahahahahahahahaha, the image used for his head can't be linked to anymore, and instead there's a white rectangle with the Tripod logo in it floating above his shoulders.
-
All of these would be great! All I personally want is to have any new Star Trek game!
(and guh, I still want Armada II seven years later...and at the cheapest it's still $100)

While the tribble one looks cute at first glance, won't the kids get sad when they realize that most of the tribbles in that pile are either dead or dying, poisoned by the Klingons? Not all that Christmasy if you think about it. :unsure:Sorry, that was my Scrooge post of the day.
Hahahaha, I don't think that's the attitude they had towrds them in the actual episode. I found the episode as a whole to be rather playful...despite the mass genocide.
Anyway, those ornaments look great! I must acquire them!

As long as earth was behind the spacedock, I don't think it mattered what was showing. I mean, it does orbit the planet and can't allways be over France.
And as far as the whole New Zealand thing...it was probably a single person's job to draw up the cartography. Blame it on him/her!

Not to offend any of you, but I'm honestly a bit taken aback at how judgemental some of you are being...hasn't ST instilled any sense of acceptance into you?
Personally, I find her very attractive, with all length of hair. Her look, to me, was neither butch nor feminine...it was just attractive.

High supply and low demand here, much? I'd help, too, but it seems you've got it coverd. :-P

Ahahaha, those were all great! Whenever I get married I've decided that I'll at LEAST be wearing a top-hat and a coat with tails...and I'll probably go so far as to have an Insurrection-esque Captain's formal uniform on underneath so I could pull my tux straight off and strut around in my [much more stylish] Starfleet garb. :blush2:
-
I got 4:41 twice! Woo!
-
I'm so confused! Where did you see something that said it was only 3 more days until a demo as released?! All I knew about was that the first-ever in-game footage would be released at the Vegas convention!

Alexander the Great...half because my name is Alexander, and half because he was the richest man to EVER walk the planet (seriously, WITHOUT even adjustiong for thousands of years of inflation, he had over $60 billion in gold and other valuables.)
Also, I just think he was cool. so there. :-P

Ah! Too many quotes! I will die!
Anyway, I enjoyed the episode as well, and although it was a wee bit odd, I saw the message in it and agreed with it. :blush2:

This is when I feel so very priveleged to have every episode of TNG, VOY, and DS9, and season 1 of TOS and ENT...:blush2:
Most of this is due to a very good friend of mine. She knows every episode by heart. Tell her an episode title and she'll give you the full synopsis...even the episode number.

Yesss! I just CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

If time hasn't expired for you to edit your post, Corina, then you can still add one using Eratosthenes instructions. If time has expired, a Mod can edit it, adding it for you for you but it would probably be easier to just start a new thread.
Congrats Eratosthenes!
Haha, thanks, AE!

Five years on and I still think it's a stupid idea. You NEED inertial dampers. The TNG technical manual even says that inside the Enterprise D you would not survive warp without them. And how would that ship have escaped Bajor's gravity without some sort of rocket propulsion?I am not one of "those Trekkies" who miss the whole point of shows. Father and son bonding, yeah yeah yeah - I get it! But they really could've worked on the tech a bot more to make me BELIVE that it could've been possible. If the show has a ridiculous premise to carry the main plot, that distracts the viewer from that plot. I am willing to suspend my disbelief just like anyone - but when I think something is ridiculous, then it's ridiculous.
Sorry - but this show was a stinker!
Inertial dampers are only needed for rapid changes in velocity, such as quickly accelerating, braking, turning, etc.
Since the entire premise of warp technology relies on the idea of shortening the distance between two points, rather than attempting physically impossible speeds, there never really is a large change in velocity. Space is simply bent, or folded, to the point that the ship can fly at a 'normal' speed while appearing to move much faster due to the folding/stretching effect. This is why it's frowned upon to attempt warp near a planetary system, as it distorts the planets' natural effects on space and gravity (objects of extreme mass produce observeable effects on gravity and time that can be physically quantified).
Now, as for the Bajoran ship, I believe the wood was simply decorative. The Bajorans' minds are deeply rooted in their culture and religion, and would thus probably apply their own aesthetics to everything they produce. It ALSO would not have been a problem to get the ship into space, as it took Earth scientists (real ones) a very long time to discover the prospect of a solar sail, and we've yet to produce one. Since we, obviously, are able to reach space and we haven't even MADE a solar sail yet, it would be minimal effort for us (and by the same ticket, the Bajorans) to put a craft such as the one we're talking about into space.
As far as what actually got the craft to reach warp 'speed' to begin with...I'll leave that to the prophets to answer.

I agree with alost all of those. However I have to concur with DaboGirl about TWOK, and then for FC and NEM I had different favorite moments, as well:
FC: When Deanna says "We've just recieved wrod from the fleet...they've engaged the Borg." It sends SHIVERS THROUGH ME! Also, the bit following that when they listen in on the radio transmissions.
NEM: Data is one of my all-time favorite characters in any series, but what he did at the end was so well-executed and so genuine and so...human...I wouldn't have it any other way.

I would, but I couldn't justify the expenditure right now...
