I don't know if anyone caught this, but on 60 minutes i watched some of a segment on Google and they mentioned that in their future plans they had instant web page language translation on their minds.

I think (the captain's chair) makes a bit more sense this way then having a touch screen, i mean, what if he or another officer is covered in a dirt-like substance and when they touch a part of the screen, they then have to wipe it off before they can touch that part again.

Hehehe, yes i know of the "ancient ones". They use one of those older cell phones as a gag in some of the commercials now, along with "laptops" that really look like predecessors to the iMac, as well as other items.
Yeah, i also find it peculiar that we're getting cell phones with buttons our fingers can't hit easily (i keep saying "what's with these companies, don't they think they're making these things TOO small?!!!" ).

Well, I think the asertion that 2 or more are needed applies more to when different races had primitive UT technology, and as it improved they were able to slowly dissolve the need to have a bare minimum of 2 systems.
As for how they translate so quickly, it has to do with a basic route dialect pattern that is used by most alien races, although early on they may not know this.
And yeah, there really should be more races with which translation takes a while.

Hehehe, you guys are great  . Hey VBG, wasn't it Ted Nugent who created People Eating Tasty Animals?

I noticed fairly quickly the changes they made on enterprise, in the way of sets.
First off the captain has a new chair, but this chair instead of having a handful of keyboard like buttons now has buttons/lights more like Kirk's chair.
The Transporter has a more redish hue to it that's reminiscent of Kirk's transporter.
In that genetic station they even had a triangular monitor in the main research laboratory similar to the one that's prevalent in the breifing room on Kirk's Enterprise.
If you notice anything else reminiscent of TOS, please share.
I think we owe cudos to Coto for these changes also .

I thought it was pretty good, but should be used more as a way to bring back more fans (or get new fans). But yeah, the "where no humans have gone before" line was definately cheesy.
On that second audio, it first showed up on the first "star trek: starship creator" pc game if you had no idea. I swear, i first heard it on the game and afterwards it's like all of a sudden it's EVERYWHERE.
And as far as what i think on the intro, i'd like them to go back to the first one since the show no longer is at such a fast pace. The remix intro was really suited for the xindi arc and now that's over with (i hope).

Actually, there is a Star Trek TV Channel, sorta. It's called Space Channel and they've made a "no more trek" commercial which introduces viewers to the knowledge of Enterprise joining the Star Trek line-up; the website is http://www.spacecast.com/ and apparently they don't just show Star Trek (probably a good idea, EVERYONE needs some variety).

If you want more schematics, check out this site: http://www.strekschematics.utvinternet.com...lecutschem.html
and also this site for cutaways (MSD's in otherwords): http://www.strekschematics.utvinternet.com...cut/orgmsd.html .
Of course there's more great stuff on this guy's main page http://www.strekschematics.utvinternet.com/ .

One site that i like a lot that has a bunch of info on enterprise is http://www.starfleetcom.net/ . I've said this a couple times before, but i'd like to see them switch back to Spatial Torpedoes from now on; i mean, aside from the fact these new torps only use antimatter instead of a fusion-ish warhead, they look like bonafide photon torpedoes (heck, even the name is spelled almost EXACTLY the same :)).

Maybe the staff is busy trying to come up with more appealing alternatives to the doc's "creatures". :) But seriously, isn't it kinda universal in the military/starfleet to have a small medical team, and bring in a medical ship in an emergency?
I think this is a problem with Enterprise though since there AREN'T any medical ships at all that we know of!!!

You know, we were never given a clue as to who/what Silik's boss was, i was kinda disappointed about that, in regards to them finishing the TCW story.

Hehehe, i can imagine what they'd say:
T'Pol: "Those shields are inefficient and inadequately designed."
Reed: "Turbolasers, blasters, ion and hyperdrive engines; what were these people thinking??"
Trip: "I'd like to know how they can even POWER all that stuff without a matter/antimatter engine, there's no way they could have enough energy for anything on this movie."
Hoshi: "I wish we had UT's the worked that good :)".
Mayweather: "Wait a minute, no vessel can cruise at 50% light speed with ion engines, and half of those vessels are slower then my dad's cargoship WITH cargo modules attached".
Archer: "Guys, lighten up, it's just a movie *maaannnn, i wish I had jedi powers*".
Hehehe

I'm hoping to see them go more into these mysterious Neptune Class starships, since aside from a mention of the class we know basically nada.
I'd like to know if those triangular vessels that we already see (the ones that first showed up to defend Enterprise against the klingon ship) are the aforementioned Neptune Class ships, or if they're a more recent design (i suspect that those vessels ARE Neptune Class starships though, since they seem to be no older then 30 years and trip said they are where the Cap's chair design came from).
I'd also like to know something about what looks to be an advanced space shuttle design, as well as that unusual vessel that seems to be nearing the moon (could that be the actual version of the SS Valiant? If so i hope they at least drop a couple exaust ports (aft view looks a bit too Star Wars-ey to me)).
Perhaps even have a scene of a Crewperson visiting the SS Enterprise :(.

I think i'd be a bit relieved. I mean, there's a chance doing that could reduce the divide between Star Trek and Star Wars fans, perhaps.

Well, i think the longer an emblem/image is around the more likely it'll be used by significantly different groups.
Such as the skull and bones graphic.

I wonder why the Earth Starfleet Command logo isn't at a reverse 45 degree angle, because that would look more like a cross between the NASA and UFP logos. The way they made it i think it's a bit tacky also :(.
-
On the one hand i would say myself it's time to redesignate the Enterprise, and call each similar ship Enterprise class. But on the other hand, there have been several occasions in recent history that suggest they don't need to redesignate the ship and utilize it's name as the class name right now.
Look at the early X Planes for example, there were several times where more then 1 version was built and they never called the extras by the name of the first 1.
Both the idea to keep the designation as is and to change it are equally valid right now from what i can tell, so it's really up to the staff at Paramount to call this one.

I have just recently had Strawberry Creme Rolls, and there's only 1 reaction i had when i first tasted 1: :(.

 Hehehe, it is kinda funny what struck down the Red Baron, and i guess watching the History Channel special did teach me something i could use (if only in here). Hehehe, and i thought it was Snoopy who got him all the time prior too (j/k).

2 Yahoo accounts, 1 Netscape and 1 Hotmail. I hate hotmail's email smily option limit and netscape is basically unused it seems, i may drop it so i have 1 less account to worry about.

Jeanway, i agree with you 100% on this!! I have listened to Coast to Coast AM and i wouldn't be all too surprised if we could cure many things just by using sound therapy.
Right now i've been using and am still using advair, but i really hate to use it and when i told my parents i thought i'd do better just going on oxygen therapy instead of using advair they looked at me like i was a kook, but i SWEAR i really believe i'll do better on oxygen therapy then this advair (besides, i'm sick of hearing about the side effects of this cr@p ).
I think there's some homeopathic medicinal concepts that could do a lot of good, but only when the drug companies are brought off of their pedastal .

As mj said, there's more to it then "just" me not liking the Trip/T'Pol relationship. In truth, i have pretty much no problem with the concept, but i find it rather sad that they trade a relationship of Archer/T'Pol with one where it's Trip/T'pol, which seems to be done more for purely sexual (thus men and ratings grabing) reasons then anything else.
Prior to the Trip/T'Pol relationship, there was one where there was a clear connection between Archer and T'Pol, and a great possibility of those 2 becoming closer (to such a point like that shown in the "alternate future" episode where T'Pol is captain of the Enterprise.
But suddenly it was as if this connection didn't exist and the last several years was just a dream, which is something i REALLY don't care much for, and is the reason i wish they never even went in the direction of Trip and T'Pol having a relationship.
Again, i'm against a Trip/T'Pol relationship not because i hate it, but because it ignores so much established earlier in Enterprise.

Jeanway, you misunderstand what i meant by my post (again). I didn't mean it was bull in that sense, i meant it was bull to put ANYONE who has asthma in the category of High Risk just because they have asthma, which is a GENERALIZATION. Instead they should check the medical history of the person and determine based on THAT the need for the person to get said shot.
I have asthma but i haven't had the flu for years and i stoped having it around the same time i stoped taking the flu shot, but i never said it's bull that anyone ELSE that has asthma wouldn't be high risk.
And i never said anything about flu not causing pneumonia, i never even MENTIONED pnuemonia, that's a conjecture you made based on something i didn't say, as are the other things based on pnuemonia, as i was sticking to flu related issues, not pnuemonia related ones.

This is only ONE of the problems that have led many technical professionals and experts to say to use IE rarely. More and more people are switching to using mozilla firefox as it is much more feature packed and is MUCH more user friendly. Now, if microsoft (providing they wouldn't whine and coooommmmplaaaaiinnn) would just make new versions of files such as Messenger, hotmail, etc that could be opened primarily in a 3rd party web browser then you'd probably see the problems on computers go down fairly soon.
