  1. At this point, I would go and see anything that Pixar has done.  They are by far the most advanced animation studio in the country if not the world.  Their movies may be animation but the humor and subject material is very much adult orientated.  There are so many jokes that go over the heads of anyone under ten that it reminds me of the great Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons of the 60's.  How many of us here have watched the re-runs of this great series and finally get some of the jokes that were in it?  It was funnier to me as an adult then it ever was when I was a kid.  Pixar movies falls into this catagory.  The kids watching them now will appreciate them more when they are older and understand the underlying references that are peppered throughout the film.  By all means, go see "Finding Nemo", and just enjoy the incredible amount of creativity and expertise that went into this film.  Hanna/Barbara this ain't..

There are many things in here I agree with, but I had to quote this because my gosh, the animation was phenomenal. I mean, you could tell they weren't trying for the humans (it WAs about the fish after all), but wow. I mean, that scene of Sydney changing from night to day looked about 99% real! Some of the underwater scenes were downright beautiful.

And the movie plot and script and everything was also good.

    Click for Spoiler:

I loved Dory "speaking whale". I don't care how juvenile that joke was or wasn't supposed to be, I couldn't stop laughing. She made me eek!

  2. I really enjoy Harry Potter books. I love the way all the books tie each other in, and everything is related. I love the characters, I love the storylines/plots, I love the mythology, I love the humour. And I love the way that it seems so real (the characters and their reactions and life in general) even while it is fantasy. Cant wait for Order of the Pheonix!

  3. I love your signature, by the way.

    Yeah I liked It Too....

anyway...It still comes on this channel called Noggin, but since this channel is aimed at Pre-teens, they've Edited the Hell Out Of Daria..cause we can't have Pre-Teens thinking for themselves, now can we?

I watched Daria (unedited) when I was a preteen, and I don't see what there was to edit, or why they edited anything! There wasn't even anything inappropriate, it was just a completely new, original, and interesting spin on things. What happened to your sig???

  4. I would be a new 'friend' on Friends and would take the p1ss out of them in every show and be really sarcastic.

    Monica: "Let's go go carting!"

    Joey: "What's that?"

    Monica: "It's fun".

Me: (Sarcastically) "Oh yay. Let's go. So much fun.'' (under breath) ''losers..."

I dont think their little minds would grasp sarcasm and they would actually think I was a really good friend.

Just for a day, I would like to be able to pack a bikini with the real stuff and be one of Charlie's Angels.

    Dang, you took mine

Well, also on the Simpsons, I guess, but Friends woudl be my No 1

  5. I loved it. All movies these days are ridiculous and predicatable..although Matrix shares its " I knew that was going to happen" moments, its one of the best movies I've seen since Red Dragon....plus with flics like Hollywood Homocide and Dumb and Dumberer and The Hulk...Matrix was definitly a pleasure to watch when the highest drawing attraction is a lost fish. (IMO) no offence meant O' fearless leader.

LOL I'm not offended. I just got bored with all the effects and long fights. I skipped through a lot of the movie.

I would really have liked more story and more substance to the movie then what we got.

I agree with both of you. I really did like the movie, although I liked the movie, the fight scenes had WAY too much of the slo-mo Matrix thing...

  6. The one thing that made me wonder though was this: in the 1930s and 1940s that was how cinema goers saw the future. Flash Gordon and Ming the merciless and rockets and stuff. They thought that that was a realistic interpretation of the future. Now, we contemporary viewers are looking back at such ideas as funny in their naivety. I wonder if viewers in 2050 will look back at Voyager and The Noxt Generation in the same way that we look back at shows like Captain Proton.

Either way, that was just a thought. That aside, I agree that Captain Proton was hilarious and I liked Captain Janeway as Queen Arachnia, of the Spider people in another Proton Episode.

I've always wondered that too  Although, and I must admit I have no imagination, I can't imagine things getting much more advanced than star trek...

Oh, and I quite liked Cpt Proton, bbut I'd need to re-watch the episodes because I don't remember much except the one where Janeway had to pretend to be Queen Arachnia, which I found hilarious, and very much enjoyed.

  7. If you didn't see much of a vibe between Harry and Libby, you have to read Pathways. Once you read it you will see that there is no other woman for Harry.

Loved that book. And of course they were meant for each other  thank you!! D

Also, what is this "Homecomming" you mentioned, jdigs?

  8. the holograms probably have very sophisticated programs that allow them to emulate human behaviour very convincingly - just look at today's electronic games and then think 400 years later - same probably goes for the physical 'feel' of the holodeck images, right? - and as for 'real' humans adjusting to the substitution (like Tom being able to kiss one, and Tuvok being able to...), who knows what humans could get used to? ...betcha 400 years ago they never THOUGHT we'd use stuff like toilet paper and cell phones, ya know?

maybe, but toilet paper and cell phones are a little different than kissing or more with energy, light, and force fields. Maybe if they were alive ( like the doctor), but otherwise it's kinda like getting it on with a pillow...

  9. But he does sort of grow on you, doesn't he?  I still hate him, but I don't hate him that much.  Does that make sense?

Makes sense to me. If I didn't hate certain other characters so much (ahem the doctor) he'd be pretty close to last on my list. But even when I hate him, I don't really hate him. In other words, yup, I understand and agree.

  10. I liked Seven of Nine, but not so much the direction of the show afterward.  Too often the episodes revolved around her somehow.  She was the solution to so many problems, and the other characters (besides the Doc and Janeway) went too far into the background.  If the show had started out that way, perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad.  The original was very much like this.  But this started out as an ensemble cast with some excellent characters like B'Elanna, Chakotay, and Tuvok.  All of whom were ignored too often once Seven came on board.  Even the best interactions were replaced by her - such as Janeway and B'Elanna, and Kes and the Doctor.

I, for one, wish that Kes would have stayed.  She was a great character, and had a warmth that I missed when she was phased out. It wouldn't have been so hard to keep her about as prominent as the other characters.

I 100% agree with you! Besides, all those changes that you mentioned weren't brought about by the addition of 7, they just happened at the same time....I really didn't like her very much, although she didn't detract from my enjoyment of watching the show...she just didn;t add to it either. Plus, I really liked Kes.

 hehehe. Personality of a popsicle. hehehe

  11. I just have a problem with the fact that they didn't explain why no one ever mentioned it again until Q Who! They just left it out in the open! Everyone knew, and they even had a way to combat assimilation, I mean, I thought it was just ridiculous. It sure didn't help me like ENT any better...
