  1. Yes it could get cancelled. Dont' kid yourselves. At least the final numbers for The Forgotten were higher than fast nationals indicated. It gained 490,000 viewers from Damage.

    Folks, observe address below.

    Mr. Garrett Hart

    President

    Paramount Television

    5555 Melrose Avenue

    Los Angeles, CA 90038-3112

This is the president of Paramount television, not UPN itself. This is Scott Bakula's friend. This is the man Scott complained to this spring about how ENT was marketed. This is the only suit to express public support for Enterprise. This is a man who would like Trek to be profitable again. It would be to Paramount's financial benefit if Trek were profitable again.

This is the man who has the power to shop ENT to a cable network if it is cancelled by UPN.

Write hm a letter. Today. Do not think about it. If you want ENT to remain on the air somewhere, DO IT. Get a piece of paper and do it now. Print it out on your PC if it's easier. Next week will be too late. One stinking paragraph about how much you've enjoyed the series and how you would be happy to follow it to another network. Then say "thank you." That's all it takes. The decision for UPN's fall schedule is announced on May 20. Those jerks never gave ENT a chance; they wanted it to fail and made the concious decision not to advertise. Morpheus the insider said so. UPN made the decision to promote America's Top Model and didn't even bother to run promos for ENT at the end of ENT episodes!!! That's outrageous. Garry Hart could help ENT survive post-UPN. I'm not expecting ENT to be renewed and I'm the most positive person in the world. I'd hate to see it cancelled and wonder if I'd gotten off my behind to write one letter would it have made the difference? Everybody can't assume that everyone else is writing enough letters.

Or call 310-575-7000. Better yet do both. That is the number for the UPN voice mail that they've set up to take calls about Enterprise. Please take the time. Write Garry Hart one letter.

  2. Well I would sure care if it's cancelled, UnicornHunter. I'm sorry you feel that way. That's sad. A romance sure wouldn't put me off of ENT. I gave it a 7.5 out of 10. Some nagging plot holes but the character moments were flat out wonderful. I adored Lorien. What a sad, tired person he must have been keeping the generational crew who had never known Earth focused on their goal. Great, great casting.

For those who disagree with the temporal mechanics I offer you one word.....Sela. Half Romulan, half human. Daughter of an unnamed Romulan officer and the deceased Tasha Yar who owed her continued existence to an altered timeline. A timeline which was corrected by her going into the past. A corrected timeline which should have nullified Tasha's existence. Somehow, though, she managed to give birth to Sela. Time is not quite so separate from space as one thinks, so sayeth the traveller from TNG.

  3. Folks, if you write a letter to no one else, write to Garrett Hart. His address is on evay's page

    http://www.triphammered.com/support.shtml

Gary Hart is the head honcho of Paramount. He likes ENT. He's said so. He's More importantly, he's Scott Bakula's friend. He's the guy Scott talked to when he was (I'm trying to say a bad word but can't)ing about UPN. That might make him inclined to help--or think ENT is worth shopping to cable or another network. Please write this weekend and get it out Monday that the latest. He will also be more likely to help if he KNOWS WE EXIST. Here is my letter.

    Mr. Garrett Hart,

I am writing to let you know how much I and my husband have enjoyed season three of your network?s program ?Star Trek: Enterprise.? Season three has been a vast improvement in our opinion. As long time Trek fans, we appreciate a Trek series that is willing to take risks and feature a captain who is not depicted in the all too perfect mode of the future great Jean Luc Picard (who refused to ever do wrong and was promptly bailed out of every crisis by politically correct writers). Oddly enough, as soon as Captain Archer became less noble, his appeal heightened. 24th century Trek had become deathly dull in retrospect. 22nd century Trek is not. We hope that ?ST: Enterprise? will appear on Paramount?s fall schedule, even if it takes a reduced episode order and budgetary cuts to make it happen. Mr. Hart, if ?ST: Enterprise? is not on your network?s fall schedule my husband and I have no reason to turn the channel to UPN in our home. There is nothing else airing on United Paramount Network of interest to us. ?ST: Enterprise,? ?ER,? and ?Judging Amy? are the only programs we watch regularly on non cable channels. I would gladly watch ?ST: Enterprise? if it moved to first run syndication on cable and leave UPN behind. That might be a wiser decision.

A time slot change to move ENT away from the sadly popular reality tripe ?American Idol? would be beneficial--perhaps to Fridays, Mondays, or even Sundays. That competition, in addition to the nearly constant preemptions in major markets due to professional basketball airing on UPN outlets for months on end, is too steep a hill to climb for a fine show (which for some inexplicable reason UPN chooses not to advertise) that is playing catch up. An arc based show is going to suffer when people have to watch it at a different time every week. Any show will suffer when fans have to search to find it. Fortunately Oklahoma City is a professional sports wasteland so we don?t have to deal with that problem, but I chat with far too many fans who do. You have a loyal fan base. I hope you take that into account. The cast, particularly Connor Trinneer, is flat out wonderful. It?s a pity that more people weren?t able to see Mr. Trinneer?s performance in last night?s episode ?The Forgotten.? I can?t articulate how impressed I was. One of Trek?s best moments ever aired. He is extremely talented.

    Sincerely,

    Dorian and John Thompson,

    Oklahoma City

Use that as an example if you like. :naughty:

  4. Quills says we shouldn't take the word of a desk jockey since they don't know anything and not all the receptionists said the same thing. I just don't know. My advice is to write letters from evay's page. Now. As in this weekend and mail them out Saturday if you can't get them out tomorrow. I'm in the process right now so I can get them printed off into the mail tonight on my way to work. I just think it's a crying shame. ENT is so good right now. Sob.

  5. Well, that's it. If you want to write letters, do it this weekend. Pavlova, one of the leaders of the ENT project also called the UPN office and whomever she spoke to told her that unless something changes, Enterprise is set to be cancelled.

Unless something changes. Letters now. I think it's a crying shame that just when this show reaches its potential they're willing to pull the #$%$%$# plug. The ratings were actually ticking up until January. Then American Idol premiered. :naughty: Sheesh. I will write my letters to all concerned, tell them once again in no uncertain terms that if ENT is cancelled there is absolutely nothing of interest to me on UPN. I am so upset.

  6. Thank you, Archerfan. Got to let them know that we appreciate them giving us a captain willing to do the tough stuff. Some of us like risks. Yes, I mentioned AI when I was talking to her. She said the cast is frustrated about it, about UPN's handling of advertisement and promos, about a lot of things. She implied strongly that they were VERY upset. Her response about AI was basically, "What are you going to do about people who like reality tv?" Definitely a scoff in her reply. She hinted that some of the cast thought they might even be better off on the dreaded Friday night than competing against the reality wave. That's telling.

  7. 323-956-5000

You'll get a computer voice which is a speech recognition program. When it's finished chirping, say "Star Trek Enterprise." That will take you to the ENT production office. I talked to a chirpy but sweet young woman named Sara who seemed all too eager to hear from us.

Folks, the overnights went up 2 tenths from last week, the fast nationals went down 2 tenths. The margin of error for ratings is 2 tenths, which means that ENT drew approximately the same number of viewers as last week and last week's ratings were abysmal. There's no way to sugarcoat them. This show is in trouble. American Idol is murdering it. Sara said that input from fans can help. That is the number. She asked me what part of the episode I liked best. I told her Connor rocked the house.

Please call during business hours Pacific Time. It could make the difference. :naughty:

Also, evay's page with the addresses.

    http://www.triphammered.com/support.shtml

Leslie Moonves. Dawn Ostroff. Eric Kim, director of programming for UPN. Mel Karmazin, the head of Viacom. The four most important names. Especially Moonves.

  8. Ladies, gentlemen, respectfully.....Trip hadn't slept in days and the man who built the weapon that killed her was on board chatting with his colleagues. I can fathom why he was a tad unpleasant to him. If he'd offered him a coke and a piece of pecan pie that wouldn't have translated believably on screen. Why, just yesterday I was quite rude to the guy who ax murdered my nephew when he dropped by to have tea with my sister and me.  Perspective, good people. This isn't TNG. Thank God.

9.5 from me. How great is Randy Oglesby as Degra? Think of what the man did. He fired on his own people and killed them. What demons of hell he will face in his own mind and heart. How fantastic is Connor? I felt as if I were intruding on his and T'Pol's privacy. Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous moment as two beings connected emotionally, one offering and the other accepting comfort. The Trip/Phlox standoff in the hallway....you will get some sleep, young man!....priceless. :(

  9. Well, count me as a heathen who wasn't offended by the shower scene. What can I say? It made sense within the context of a story and Connor looks scrumptious when wet. Color me heterosexual. Nothing wrong with passionate kissing and "the scene" showcased T'Pol's deteriorating mind set. She is craving emotion and experience. She is physically attracted to Trip (obviously B) ) but she is becoming increasingly unhinged and fears losing total control. Her initially sleeping with Trip (and most likely sleeping with him subsequently--Phlox pointed "particularly Comander Tucker" during her confession was telling) was a sign she's losing control and giving in to her desires for emotionally heightened experience of all kinds. Sex is a powerful experience both physically and emotionally. She's afraid subconsciously that she's going to lose it completely, thus hurting him and everyone else. I'll reserve judgement on whether the drug addiction is a good story or not. Personally, I don't think a woman needs to be excused for having sex. Perhaps a Vulcan does. I'm not sure.

I thought the resolution of the cliffhanger was lame but Archer's dilemma sure made it all worthwhile. Talk about damage. What a clever title. I was impresed that Archer didn't rationalize it away. He didn't bulls**t himself. He knew full well what he was doing to a ship full of aliens who were just like Archer and company a short year ago. Talk about powerful stuff. I give it an 8.5 for the lameness of the cliffhanger resolution.

  10. Why is it worse than a soap opera? Morpheus said fans will probably find E2 heartbreaking in the extreme. He/she refuses to answer specifics on it because it will spoil the script, but Morpheus says it brought a tear to her eye. Think about it, to set things right.....

    Click for Spoiler:

Archer (and Trip/T'Pol) will have to obliterate the existence of children and grandchildren they have met. Not potential offspring, but real people. Karyn Archer is Archer's granddaughter. Lorian is Trip's son. Morpheus refused to give plot details, but you can imagine how that would affect these two men. To not get trapped in the void and thrown into the past, they follow the advice of their descendants--descendants who know they'll cease to exist if the NX-01 is successful. Archer will erase the existence of a son and a granddaughter. He will probably never meet the alien woman with whom he would have had this son. Even if Trip and T'Pol get together and have a child--it won't be Lorian. It sounds god awful heartbreaking to me--not soap operaish. Not in the least. :roflmao:

  11. Morpheus is an anonymous setsider who has visited the trektoday BBS for the last three seasons who won't identify herself. She can't, really. She loves being cryptic to keep people guessing, but in three seasons she has never gotten a single spoiler wrong. Morpheus hasn't been impressed with the writing the first two seasons and she doesn't get into the shipper wars at all. In fact, she loves to make fun of the the A/T'P vs. T/T'P debates on principle. She makes a point of saying that she doesn't like romance in Trek. That being said, the Morph lady has opined that the final six episodes are better than anything the staff has written to date and she's said over and over that Connor and Jo have some exceptional scenes in the next couple of eps--she says they aren't "exactly romantic"--but that Trip and T'Pol's scenes are "meaningful," "emotionally significant" and "very painful." She refuses to say whether or not the infamous "shower scene" mentioned by Billingsley in the Dreamwatch article is a sex scene, a dream, a brush off or what have you. She says we'll have to tune in to find out. She also keeps saying that Connor did some outstanding work in "The Forgotten," which airs after "Damage."

Don't watch at your own peril. Considering the existence of Lorian in E2 and how that episode must play out, I can see where the "painful" probably comes into play. :roflmao: As far as Archer throwing anyone in the brig, Morpheus implied, but refused to say outright, that Archer never finds out that T'Pol has an addiction.

  12. Ummmmmm, Trip has plenty to do the rest of the season. You haven't read the right spoilers. If you'll remember, advance spoilers for "Harbinger" didn't even mention him. You're sounding the alarm bell for nothing. The episode "Forgotten" is entirely Trip's episode. Morpheus did nothing but lavish it with praise and said that Connor does his best work so far.

I doubt Trip and T'Pol will be trysting in the middle of an emergency. Morpheus isn't exactly a gusher and she says Connor and Jo have some of the best scenes they've ever had all series long--very emotional. Confrontational, even. She's in a position to know as we all know. I never knew she was a chick, but life is full of surprises.

  13. You don't usually start having babies at 40 (no offense)

Not everyone meets prince(ss) charming when they're 22 years old. 150 years in the future with advances in medicine and presumably infertility, people might in fact be more prone to wait to have children after they've done the career thing. They would probably live a bit longer on average so they'd be more comfortable waiting knowing that they could have a long life with their kids even if they did start at 40.

    BIG E2 SPOILER

    Click for Spoiler:

Morpheus says we meet Archer's granddaughter, Karyn, the offspring of his child with an alien woman the NX-01 rescues at some point in the future and we also meet the future Enterprise's captain--Lorian--a half human/half Vulcan. He is T'Pol's son, presumably with Trip. The actor they have cast has blondish graying hair and big blue eyes. Since Vulcans have longer life spans the timing works out. Lorian is supposedly a troubled soul.

  14. I understand why Archer did what he did, not wanting to send someone on a suicide mission he wouldn't be willing to fly himself. I'm not so sure he made the wrong decision considering how cryptic and full of half information Daniels has been. I wouldn't be in a rush to trust him either. Jimmy Kirk would have had the same inclinations. Had Archer known T'Pol's "secret" he definitely wouldn't have gone.

Knowing what we know, Archer's next best choice would be to have sent one of the MACOS. Surely one of them has piloting experience with his/her military training. If Archer and crew can be taught to fly an insectoid shuttle, one of the military personnel could. That's what the MACOS are there for. It's why they volunteered. Trip is needed on board for the engines and--as it turns out in light of T'Pol's problem--to command the ship. Malcolm is needed on board to make sure the weapons are in order. and to command security. Major Hayes is a decent, heroic fellow. I'd hate to see him die but that is exactly what he volunteered for. He most likely had the toughest mind set for such a mission.

However, I still understand why Archer wanted to go. I can't fault him for being brave enough to go himself--or for being reluctant to "go up and knock" and say, "Let's talk" when the weapon is so close to completion and the death toll could be billions if he's wrong. Let us give the good captain a break. Yes, the Xindi could build another weapon, but not in ten minutes. The prudent course of action is to destroy the weapon, then try to talk peace.

  15. The Romulans shouldn't be the main focus, but a shadowy threat to the humans for the next several years while ENT focuses on Earth/Vulcan/Andorian relations. I'd like that. Sneak attacks that the audience was aware were instigated by Romulans, but not the characters.

  16. Because that's the way Stewey is. That is something he would do and that is exactly the kind of negative, nasty comment he has made non stop without fail on the Trek BBS for the past THREE YEARS. He has never let up, and he never will. He has never graded an ENT episode above a D+--and I do mean never--and he will continue to come here without fail to make negative comments. He loathes ENT yet he follows it with a passion and makes comments that bring everyone else down. He will not change. I'm extremely upset that he's here. He gets off on this. He sought out another Trek board so that he could make more negative comments that he knows upsets people.

Mods, it's your call of course but this is all we will ever get from Stewey. Be ready for it. Ruining it for eveyone else is what he enjoys. On second thought, I think Trineergirl had the right idea after all. I'm taking a break.

  17. All pertinent addresses are at http://www.triphammered.com/support.shtml

If you write a letter to no one else, Mr. Eric Kim, director of programming is the person to whom to write a snail mail letter in terms of UPN retaining Enterprise. Ostroff and Moonves don't give a damn. I wouldn't waste my time. Also, the CEO of Paramount is a good person to whom to write. Paramount and UPN are not the same entities. Paramount could shop for another network for ENT. Evay has also listed all the sponsors who have played commercials during ENT. Writing sponsors (since money is the name of the game) is a VERY, VERY, VERY good idea.

  18. Folks, don't let Stewey do this to us. It is exactly what he wants. He hasn't had a constructive word to say about ENT in three years at TrekBBS. Not one. Unfortunately he probably followed a link here that I posted at TrekBBS when I saw posters over there who were distressed about the negativity. I recommended this BBS as a better place. The only reason he's here is to stir things up. He KNOWS--thanks to idiot me--that this is a positive board so he's come here to mess things up. Don't let him. It's my stupidity that resulted in his being here and I apologize. Trinneergirl, you stay. Don't let one poster ruin things for you.

Just let him speak his peace and ignore him. He has a right to his opinion. That doesn't mean it has to sway you in any way. Vent your anger at me. I'm responsible.

  19. I liked it. I thought it was a hoot. Very fun. Not quite Proving Ground, Twilight and Similitude material but light years ahead of season two boredom. I give it a good solid 8. Connor and Jolene do have that comic timing, don't they? :force: Also, I especially enjoyed

    Click for Spoiler:

when Malcolm was being snarky and teasing Trip at dinner. That is EXACTLY how males who are good, good friends interact. Oh, the neuropressure is no big deal? Well, I have this little pain here....LOL!!!!

  20. Anyone wanna see the "female sell" version of the Harbinger promo? It's a shorter clip. You can right click and save, or let it load up on your PC. Your computer may not recognize the .m1s tag--just tell it that you'd like to use Windows Media Player to open it. I've got to admit it. It's romantic. It's hot. I have complete faith that the killer bees will find a way to screw it up, but this preview puts anything that ENT has tried to pretend is sexy to date to shame. I am serious. I know a few ladies who were devoted Archer/T'Pol "shippers" and even they admitted it was hot. The look on Connor's face is priceless. It's not lascivious. He is in awe of this woman. TPTB will find a way to mess it up in the long run, I'm sure, but this is gooooood. :dude:
