Ok let the voting begin.

I was just wondering if there was a way to keep this on the main page so everybody could vote. I had a hard time finding it..Or maybe it's just me..Now that I know where it is located...

 

BTW, I voted for Big Steves!..I like that one.. :)

This is hard. We almost need categories. I'm not going to say who I voted for because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but there I was one I thought particularly creative and one very aesthetic. I couldn't vote for both. :)

This was difficult! I narrowed it down to two choices---TheUnicornHunter and ddillard.

 

TheUnicornHunter's aesthetics and wish for goodwill and peace won out. I also love the beautiful image of earth.:)

 

ddillard's, your animation is great. Sorry, I wish I could place a tie vote. :)

 

I also love Santa's sleigh pulled by three star ships--very cute! That would be my third choice. :lol:

I have never seen the animation for ddillard's entry - I guess it's because I have dial up.

 

Also, Riann, I have to confess that is the sun - I thought it was the Earth as well until I read the fine print. (after I posted my banner) It's from NASA's picture of the day and it was a winter's solstice picture (appropriate for this time). It's the picture I put on my calendar for this month and I think it's lovely but alas it is the sun not the Earth.

How perceptive, yes I am sorry too now that you've pointed it out I see the Sun was a more appropriate choice.

Maybe we should have another poll to vote between Captain Bolivars banner, Big Steves banner and myown banner.

I'm a little surprised that only 20 members have voted in this poll.. :dude: Maybe we should leave the voting open until New Years..?

 

I know I'll miss these banners when they're gone..They are all wonderful!

Ok, we have a 3 way tie that is fluctuating back and forth once in awhile. I think it would be a good idea to state the deadline for voting well before anouncing the deadline is closed.

 

I say this because you might originally intend to close the polls on Dec 26 and Banner A could be in the lead, but you decide to keep it open anyways to let others vote. On Dec 27 Banner B could now be winning and suddenly the polls are closed. I don't thinik that would be very fair to whoever made Banner A.

 

So I think a deadline should be made clear ahead of time in the name of fairness.

 

If a tie still results I think it would be best to make a poll for just the tieing ones as the Doctor suggested. This would make it clear which one is most liked. With all the original 20 voters getting the chance to vote again, but on only 2 or 3 banners, it is highly unlikely we would end up with a tie or a banner winning by only one vote.

 

Just my thoughts. Good luck to all of you! :hat:

I sense you all are waiting for further action to be taken in this matter but my hands are tied. I looked over the Banner Rules thread and can find no mention by VBG of a voting deadline so I cant be sure setting up a new tiebreaker poll would not be overstepping my bounds, we all have to wait for VBG to show and rule on this, (unless someone can show me a post by VBG which proves a deadline has officially passed).
