trekz 7 Posted December 21, 2007 The Bowl season is off and running with NAVY losing  to Utah in a wild close game. Utah 35, Navy 32 The Utah Utes are taking this bowl business seriously. Brian Johnson threw for one touchdown and ran for another, and Utah opened the bowl season with a wild 35-32 victory over the Navy Midshipmen in the Poinsettia Bowl on Thursday night. It was Utah's seventh straight bowl victory dating to 1999. The loss spoiled the head coaching debut of Navy's Ken Niumatalolo, who was promoted from assistant head coach and offensive line coach after Paul Johnson left for Georgia Tech. Theunicornhunter 2 Posted January 5, 2008 (edited) Trekz, did you watch every one of these games. Boozehound, I moved to Salt Lake City to live and got a job and the U. I had spent some time in Calif before this and I liked the West - I still miss it sometimes. I already had my AA so I used my employee discount and took some classes until I was close to graduating and then quit and went full time for a year. It's been over 20 years since I graduated. <_< Edited January 5, 2008 by TheUnicornHunter
trekz 7 Posted January 6, 2008 TUH, I wish I had seen more of these games, but I saw parts of 10 bowl games thus far. I tried to see the Big Ten teams play when possible, but missed some. Most satisfying was the Michigan victory. Most frustrating was the Illinois loss in the Rose Bowl. I didn't expect them to win, but didn't like the poor showing they provided. They beat Ohio State, so they should have played better imo. I really enjoy Bowl games and am not so sure that the BCS playoff has improved the Bowls. I find it fun to see different teams compete together. I wish more of the Bowl games were at neutral sites and not a home field advantage for some teams. Despite that happening a bit too often, I still enjoy college Bowl games and hope they continue for years to come.
