Wishfire 2 Posted July 15, 2006 Pretty straight-forward. Choose one episode from each series which you believe defines Trek as Trek. Two (or more)-parters may apply ENT - The Vulcan Arc. (The Forge, Awakening, and Kir'Shara.) TOS - Balance of Terror TNG - The Inner Light DS9 - undecided VOY - Living Witness
Stephen of Borg 2 Posted July 15, 2006 (edited) ENT- Similitude TOS- City on the Edge of Forever TNG- The Inner Light can't think of any more!!! I'm as shocked as anyone else. I love all of the series, I just can't think of episodes that define what Trek is Edited July 15, 2006 by Gamera
Wishfire 2 Posted July 15, 2006 TOS- City on the Edge of Forever Dammit, why didn't that one pop into my mind?! That one is definitely top-of-the-line.
Theunicornhunter 2 Posted July 15, 2006 It's hard to choose just one ep - the following aren't necessarily the best - certainly not the only but I think they are eps that do convey the essence of Trek. ENT - Similitude TOS - Let That Be Your Last Battlefield VOY - Tuvix TNG - Yesterday's Enterprise DS9 - Honor Among Thieves
gul_nodrog 2 Posted July 15, 2006 TOS - City on the Edge of Forever TNG - Best of Both Worlds I & II DS9 - The Visitor VOY - No idea ENT - Didn't watch
MrPsychic 1 Posted July 16, 2006 TOS-Let That Be Your Last Battlefield, The Doomsday Machine, or City on the Edge of Forever TNG-Best of Both Worlds Parts 1 and 2 DS9- In the Pale Moonlight VOY-most likely Year of Hell, but I haven't seen all of them ENT- the Coalition arc (Babel One, United, The Aenar)
Guest Voyager Posted July 16, 2006 TOS - The Trouble with Tribbles TNG - (Can't remeber the name) Troi's mother comes when the holodecks malfunction DS9 - Tears of Prophets VoY - Year of Hell ENT -Carpenter Street.
Dark Reality 0 Posted July 20, 2006 TOS - City on the Edge of Forever TNG - The Inner Light DS9 - In the Pale Moonlight VOY - Blink of An Eye ENT - didn't watch I think the best episodes sum up the series. They're the best for a reason (even if their being best is one's opinion, and those are the best in my opinion except for Pale Moonlight - that's a fact). For the record, I didn't watch TOS either. I've seen City on the Edge of Forever and Mirror, Mirror. That's it. But City's a common favourite, was my favourite of the two, so that's my answer.
gul_nodrog 2 Posted July 20, 2006 I am changing my TNG pick from "Best of Both Worlds I & II". I am now going with TNG's second season jewel "Measure of a Man." Frankly, after rewatching that episode last night, I think that "Measure of a Man" could define ALL of Trek. Start to finish an engaging story with an urgently needed message for all earth's cultures of our time.
DrWho42 13 Posted July 20, 2006 (edited) For Star Trek: Enterprise, I'd have to say "United".. Really hated that Season 5 never came round to include Shran into the cast.. Also, that final speech given by Archer in the second-to-last episode was great. Edited July 20, 2006 by DrWho42
