My dad broke me from playing cards.

 

Every time he'd pass out allowances, he'd carry a deck of cards and challenge us kids to a few rounds of 5-card stud to see if we could double or (his words) "Maybe even triple your allowance!"

I fell for it everytime and always ended up with nothing....some times owing him! :P

 

I haven't had much of an apetite for gambling since then. :)
