Theunicornhunter 2 Posted May 19, 2003 While looking up something else I came across this trivia bite in Paul Winfield's bio. Is one of only 32 actors or actresses to have starred in both the original Star Trek (up to and including Star Trek VI:The Undiscovered Country) and then in one of the spin offs. Who are the other 31 I guess seven were the original cast Diana Muldaur had two guest roles in TOS and a recurring in TNG. I totally spaced on that one: Plus the entire original cast didn't guest star in one of the spinoffs or in Generations. The guy who played his father, Thalmus Rasulala was in an episode of Next Gen (can't remember which one, maybe Conspiracy? Madge Sinclair, who played Geordi's mom, played Kunte Kinte's wife in Roots. Ben Vereen, who played Geordi's dad on Next Gen, played Chicken George in Roots, Kunta's grandson. In the late 80's, they did a special called Roots: The Gift, where Levar Burton again played Kunta Kinte. In it, was Kate Mulgrew, Capt. Janeway and Tim Russ.
