Felis Cattus, is your taxonomic nomenclature,

an endothermic quadruped carnivorous by nature?

Your visual, olfactory and auditory senses

contribute to your hunting skills, and natural defenses.

 

I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,

a singular development of cat communications

that obviates your basic hedonistic predilection

for a rhythmic stroking of your fur, to demonstrate affection.

 

A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents;

you would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.

And when not being utilized to aide in locomotion,

it often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.

 

O Spot, the complex levels of behaviour you display

connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array.

And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,

I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.

Ode to Spot - an absolutely brilliant poem. One of my favourites! I wish we could have heard all of the poem that was ahead of it. Brannon Braga wrote the teleplay for that episode. Brilliant poem, great overall episode.

haha, you guys are cracking up! yeah I love that poem! Its soo funny! I don't really remember much about the episode though..the poem is the only part i remeber, Its so funny, and anything funny usually sticks in my mind

we are usually on at the harry time and occassionally at the tom time. We know stuff about Data but we never claimed we could type. :)

 

TNGtrekker is that one of the best things about these boards and TNG! We discuss an episode and it makes ya want to run and put a DVD in to watch. And then to see it again with fresh points of view in your mind, it's like watching it again for the first time. You get a better appreciate of episodes that you liked and an even greater appreciation for the one you loved.
