Theunicornhunter 2 Posted July 18, 2004 Inspired by other games. I will list three clues. You need to figure out where I am. When you guess (correctly) you choose the next location. I am standing in a lovely historic area. 1. Part of the Appalachian Trail runs through here 2. Two rivers converge here and you can stand on the banks and see three states. Maryland is one of them. 3. One of the most famous slave rebellion's in the nation's history occured here which helped focus the nation on slavery and lead them toward the Civil War. I tried not to make it too easy...

Jaz4stfguy 0 Posted July 19, 2004 Ok, how about this: 1. I am 660' above the surface, inside a structure. 2. North of me, two large rivers converge together. 3. Below and just to the west, there is a group of people who once called L.A. their home. Where am I?
Jaz4stfguy 0 Posted July 19, 2004 Burbank? Good guess, Tina, but no. Please try again!
Tina 0 Posted July 19, 2004 You sure it not Burbank?
Jaz4stfguy 0 Posted July 19, 2004 Personally, I have not been to Burbank, but there may be a resemblance. The key here, I believe is the #3 Clue. Think sports team. BTW, #4 : I am not in California. Try again?
Theunicornhunter 2 Posted July 19, 2004 Well, I've been looking for buildings that are 660 feet tall - you could be in the hoover dam or you could be in the press box at any number of major stadiums. As for major rivers converging I would put you inside a stadium somewhere in the midwest near where the Mississippi converges with another river. Since I have a limited knowledge of sports I will never get the third clue.

I may be wrong about the height, maybe closer to 600' or so. Clue#2: "midwest" and "Mississippi" are both correct - getting warmer! Clue#3: its a football team. American football, that is Maybe one more clue would help: Clue#5: The large city that I can see north, west, and south of me is known for its music.

Theunicornhunter 2 Posted July 21, 2004 (edited) 1. Some local businesses use the term "Ancient City" in their names. 2. The surrounding territory was "discovered" by an explorer on a mythological quest. 3. The structure I am in was completed in 1695 - its purpose was defense against pirate attacks. It has had the flags of four nations - one now non-existent - fly over it. Edited July 21, 2004 by TheUnicornHunter

Theunicornhunter 2 Posted July 22, 2004 #4: The city in which I am located was founded in 1565 making it the oldest continually inhabited European establishment in the New World. It was here the first Easter Mass was peformed in the new world. (that's a clue) #5: Remember, I am in a particular structure in this city. The stone of which this structure is composed is Coquina - a limestone formed from shells of the coquina clam. When first fired upon by British canons the walls absorbed the shock rather than shattering. #6: This should give it away Click for Spoiler: The state quarter for the state I'm in has two ships - a pirate galleon and a space shuttle
Jaz4stfguy 0 Posted July 23, 2004 UH, You're in St. Augustine, Florida. The structure you are in sounds like an old mission, the name of which escapes me. Hmmmm...

Jaz4stfguy 0 Posted July 27, 2004 Ok, I will try to make it easier than my last attempt: #1 This ancient city was co-founded by Remus; #2 A man who once stopped here said: "Veni, vidi, vici." #3 The building I am in was once a great athletic arena Where am I?
