I think it looks pretty. I use it alot because I use it like a FRAME for the word, I am an artist and believe if you put a FRAME around something it makes it look pretty. Take this:

LOVELY VS. ~ LOVELY ~ Looks better? NO or YES

OR:

TINA VS. ~ TINA ~ OR Les Mistral VS. ~ Les Mistral ~

ALOT OF OLD BOOKS DO THIS, I LIKE OLD BOOKS, SO I DO IT TOO.

That's all it is Tina. Esthetics, understand?

I've seen other people use * as one too. Like * Luthien *. She likes to mix it up with ~ Like this: *~ Luthien of Lorien ~*, very pretty, to me anyway.

Try it Tina: *~ Tina ~* Looks nice, I think :o :o

Love, *~ Jeanway ~* :o

{ I think the title should look like this:

?? ~ ?? Instead of this ~~?~~

Looks like we are speaking Binary :wow: :o

It's also used in mathematics to mean "similar to" or "on the order of" For example,

if I indicate the size of an atomic nucleus as d, I might make a mathematical statement of the sort:

d~5fm

Meanin that the size of an atomic nucleus, d, is ABOUT 5 fm. It might be more or less, but is not 500 fm or probably not 50 fm, and probably not 0.1fm.

It means different thing to different people and boards. Here I use it like jeanway to frame words. I used to mod on a pregnancy board where whenever a member was trying to get pregnant we'd all send her ~*~ babydust ~*~. :wow: I don't think it has any set meaning in the world of message boards, it's just fun and pretty. :o
