Hello, all! RC's sister here. RC asked me to post in her log and let everyone know that her computer died this morning. She's going to try to get her brother-in-law to fix it, but she suspects that it is well and truly dead. Here's hoping not, but she doesn't know when she'll next be able to get online. If her online drought lasts too long, I'll get her to give me some updates to post here.

No it can't that's a myth, I've seen a piece of steak sit in Coke for a week without losing any mass. (MythBusters on the Discovery Channel [i know; you "don't have cable"]) It won't dissolve teeth either but it does make an excellent chrome polish.

Erm, my dentist did ia test of it over here on a childs tooth he had to remove. He left it in a glass of cola for a week and although not completely gone, there weren't a heck of a lot left either and it looked ill let me tell you.

 

 

RC, girl I am praying for the pictures to still be good, and that your computer can be revived just long enough for you to transfer everything you hold dear into safe storage and til you get a new/newer computer!

Oh my gosh. I didn't even think of that. If she lost her pics, she's going to be mad. I think that maybe I'll call her and check on that before I show up at her house - or at least come bearing chocolate if I do go over there . . .

If the computer is dead the pics are not a complete loss. Have her brother-in-law remove the hard drive and install it into a new computer and save pics on mp3. This way she won't have to worry about lossing them again. If this can't be done get her a lot of chocolate and tissues, because she will need it.

I'm sorry to hear that RC's computer is broken, I hope that she has not lost any of her pictures. I hope that it can be fixed. *Huge hugs* for RC. :naughty:

well RC hope the computer problem works out, and that you can reclaim your pics. i hope that you backed them all up on cd's. if not you should be able to take out the hard drive and put it in another computer and get them off that way, then save them to a backup disc as well. best of luck

My comp is back and not a single file lost. I don't know how it got fixed, so don't ask. All I know is my brother-in-law came over with a bunch of disks and his laptop and fixed it. My only role was making him lunch. Everything is running perfectly again. He said the kids messed it up :) so he's building them their own basic computer tonight so they'll stay off mine. Anyway, I'll be burning all my pictures to disk tonight just in case this happens again and I'm not so lucky.
