    What are your thoughts on how to behave in a thread? About new threads and how often you should go back in and relpy to any new posts. Starting a new Thread? How long is too long in a post or the actual thread's lifetime? Stuff like that. Should we have a " StartrekFans.Net Lexicon" Thread? Just thinking out loud :laugh:

    I just watched this episode again. I felt a strange kinship towards Reg Barclay," Broccoli". I could see his addiction to the fantasy he was creating on the holodeck. His constant desire to be in there and allowing it to take over his life. He WAS out of control. I started thinking about this in relationship to what I have gone through in here, on the site and in my thread 'Sea Trek' and I can feel now what he was going through. I'd rather be in my made up storyland than anywhere else. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but I have noticed the topic of thread addiction come up in here once in a while. It's funny how when I first saw this episode how ridiculous it made him look, losing his grasp on reality like that. But I guess if you can see that it's happening you can begin to do something about it. Eventhough, I do think it has a purpose. Poor Reg, anyone seen him around lately? :laugh:

    Exactly my point Doc. I had no idea why this was happening and it come down to a small incident that I had totally forgotten about. Once we explained to each other why we did something, everything started to dissipate and we began joking around again. I think a Forum wouldn't really do the job the way a real-time chat would. When friends help friends, everybody wins. :laugh:

We just need ta keep ya away from it and it away from you and you'll be in fine shape before ya know it, now get back down in the cabin and think about that." " Mr. Worf, if you please." Jeanway bowed and extended her arm in the direction of the door to below deck. As DocNiel passes her she grabs him by the front of his shirt and pulls his face up to hers. " I'm runnin this ship." She says to him in a threatening tone. Then pushes him away as she releases her grip.

     

    Knowing a good threat and scare would jog them into compliance, Jeanway feels confident now they will understand she is only trying to clean them up.

    I just had an experiene with "dispute settlement". It went very well. Took about a half hour or maybe a little less and the problem was solved. We each brought a Mod, so to speak and discussed the problem, starting from the beginning, with what started it all. We each had our say and each Mod interjected when they saw fit, but they mainly just were there for clarification and to quell any further fighting. That's my suggestion. A " DISPUTE SETTLEMENT ". Not a thread, just an action we can take for the solution of an on going disagreement. We met in IM, but it could work in the chatroom, or Qu'nos. :laugh:

    Oh yea! Who said? You? You know after all the insults I've seen you hand out it's amazing to me how you can dish it out but you can't take it. I was talking to my FRIEND, Alterego. I don't like seeing him upset, is that alright with you, Mr. SmartyPants?? Oh, sorry about the weight thing. :laugh: Just lost it there for a second.

    5. Do away with "Kronos".  I don't see why a Star Trek site should have an "adult section" anymore than a theme park should have an "adult book store". :hug:

     

    I think of Kronos as a forum where the threads get heated, lots of political opinions thrown around, not as an "adult" forum. I think it should stay so those who want to talk about topics that draw out strong feelings can post without censoring themselves too much, I don't recall ever seeing a thread in there that was "adult book store" -like. Keep the politics in one forum so it doesn't spill out into the other threads , easier to avoid those discussions if you want to that way. ;)

     

     

     

    Yea, " Kronos Multi-Thread Bandwaggoning" is the worst. I got sucked into one thread and couldn't escape it for weeks. Thanks Fen :) There is a certain level of nastiness and hostility in there. I try to stay out of there as much as I can, I'm glad it's clearly marked. " WARNING, THIS FORUM COULD BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR MENTAL HEALTH" :) :) :hug:

    Jeanway, you really believe it's THAT bad in there? I don't see it, I use memories of ST.COM to judge the level of nastiness and hostility in Kronos and although threads have been closed for tempers flaring it never has reached the level of warfare we all remember at ST.COM. Agreed?

     

     

     

    AE, that was a long time ago, why are you bringing that up again. We were all neophytes in there. Warring, idiotic neophytes. We needed training and guidance on how to behave. We didn't know any better, we did clean up nicely though didn't we, well, most of us anyway. :laugh: Why you always throwing up the past to us? Hey, I don't even go in Kronos! :) Well, once in a while maybe just to look around :blink: I'm changing the subject now to something calmer:
