You are right there, that is the kind of storyline that ENT needs right now to throw it head first into seriousness. A death or deaths are always a good way of making the bond between characters even stronger, just look at the cast of 'Angel' when Joss Whedon surprised everyone by killing off Doyle... That story with Trip's family would be interesting and would serve to give connor some more meaty lines... we will have to wait and see what B+B manage to serve up to us.... :)

  2. possible ...

My fav quote that comes to mind was in 'The Andorian Incident' when Trip said of the Vulcans:

"For people without emotion you sure have a flair for the dramatic!"

oh and in 'Shockwave Part Two' when he said again of the Vulcans:

    "You people are pathetic" :)

  3. erm... i would have to say Worf, DS9 really picked up for me when Worf joined!

Maybe it wasn't so much the character but that his arrival seemed to mark some kind of turning point for the series with one of the best eps 'The Way of The Warrior'... cracking stuff!

But Worf was such a great character though, another nice crossover character. He was funny but not in an obvious way and he was very passionate and powerful - i just love the two parter when he had to fight all the Jemhadar!

Garak would be my second favourite i think... only character that i didn't really have a lot of time for was O'Brien... but i didn't hate him, just wasn't one of my favs

  4. You're right there, there is this really creepy air about them... There's just something that makes your skin crawl and gives you goose bumps.... yeah they are very cool, First Contact was awesome and i think that it wouldn't have been quite so good if the villains had been someone/something different... or maybe i am wrong, but they are just such great baddies!!!

  5. I have to say that like I, like VaBeachGuy, have not yet been bored with an episode of ENT. I mean, there have obviously been some that stand out way apart from others for being exceptional, but on the whole they have all been very entertaining...

I agree that Carbon Creek was excellent! It was funny and interesting and it was very satisfying to see T'Pol in a plain old dress that she couldn't even button up right! Made us regular girls feel ok about ourselves for a moment there! It was a great story and was very well delivered and i would love to see more like it. I just loved when Trip said 'Ok, so three Vulcans walk into a bar and come out with money and tv dinners!' or something to that effect... it really made me laugh, i love his one-liners! :D

  6. I agree, we should definitely just wait and see what they make of it...

Sounds pretty fun to me, Borg episodes are always worth watching and for all we know there could be some kind of memory wiping going on or something... but then that brings back the old 'rewind' button saga that people (I'm trying to say a bad word but can't) about with Voyager.... oh i dunno, like you've all said, let's just wait and see what happens when it airs and then we can comment on it fully! And plus, i don't understand all this time travel malarkey... now where is Dr. Sam Beckett when you need him?!!! :D

I hope it will be good, as i love Enterprise and i love The Borg! So in theory it should make for a cracking episode!

  7. Oh i totally agree Alterego. I mean, there is a lot of history in the TREK franchise, but there are some people in the world who will not let the old series' go and try and enjoy the new ones.... Nothing can take away their love of TOS and TNG, but if they just loosened up a bit they might well be able to appreciate ENT and Bakula.... ok, rant over!!! :D

  8. I had the pleasure on Sunday of visiting the Star Trek: The Adventure exhibition in London and can i just say 'Oh Boy!'

It was so fantastic! It had to be the best day out i have had in a long time. I don't know how different it is to ones you have had in the States, but i was very impressed. The first thing i noticed was that all the people who worked there were wearing blue jumpsuits, which i thought was a nice touch! They had gone to such a lot of trouble with about 5 or 6 different featurettes that were playing around the different areas, which had make-up artists etc discussing their work on ST. There were loads of props, fact files, make-up and set pieces, such as Quark's Bar and Klingon throne chair thingys! There was a Voyager Shuttle simulator ride that took you through a wrecked Borg Cube (we went on it 10 times, as it was free and there wasn't a queue!!! - and also we are quite mad!) And there was a room that had been made up to look like the Torpedo Room from Enterprise, it was so realistic with data screens and flashy lights etc! And the cafe even had Windows showing a space scene so that you could sit there and feel like you were on a ship! We also had our photos taken in the transporter room next to a CGI MR Worf and there was the option to have yourself put in an episode of TOS. But the real icing on the cake was the last bit - a chance to experience being on the Enterprise! We were guided onto a set where we saw the Warp core/coil (i never know which it is) and then it started to glow and emitt smoke and a Red alert started and we were ushered through some very authentic slidey doors into Turbo Lifts, which whilst they were not real, were so well done with moving lights to make you feel like the lift was moving and there was a power failure in there with flickery lights and more smoke. Then when we emerged from the lift we found ourselves walking onto... the bridge of the Enterprise D! We all just stood there with gaping mouths!! It was absolutely amazing! Everything looked was so perfect! Then there was a battle reinactment with the Borg on the view screen. It was all just soooooo good and we all walked away beaming from ear to ear! The only downer on the day was that souvenirs were so expensive, but we did all end up buying a box set of limited Edition ST beers - Ferengi, Klingon and Romulan!

You are prob all bored after reading all that, but i am still giddy with excitement and wanted to share my fab day with you guys! I am sure i have missed a lot out as there was sooooo much there! When i get my photos developed i will post them on a website. Live long and prosper!

Um... I chose Archer on the other board... and SB is my fav actor... but i do love Trip too! THis is such a difficult choice!! AHHHHHHHHHHH! Ok, i will pick three (yes i know i am being difficult!)

    - Archer - sweet, funny, sexy, diplomatic, isn't afraid to call someone a 'son of a (I'm trying to say a bad word but can't)'!

    - Trip - adorable, funny, oh-so-sexy(!), adorable, brainy, that southern accent....

    - Reed - he is also sweet, but i like him mostly for his comedic touches 'Pot Roast???? Again????' (Cat Walk, S2) THough he can be a little whiney!

OK, Scottie B (my favourite actor i must add!) was the best choice because he is a diverse and skilled actor - just look at all the different characters he had to play week in week out on QL - , multi-talented, funny, sexy... the list goes on!

There is a quality about him that is, well, nice! He just seems like such a great guy in real life and that really shows through in his portrayal of Archer... Plus, like i and everyone else here has said, he is a good actor and had a lot of experience on QL. It was an inspired choice, because QL had such a cult following - still does - but it was away from our screens long enough to make us really pine for it/him and so to bring him back as Archer was like a reward for being patient!!

Sounds like we are very lucky in the sunny UK because one of our digital channels shows QL repeats every week!
