"We Live"
There’s a cross on the side of the road
Where a mother lost a son
How could she know that morning he left
Would be the last time she’d trade with him for a little more time
So she could say she loved him one more time
And hold him tight
But with life we never know
When we’re coming to the end of the road
So what do we do then
With tragedy around the bend?
Chorus: (2 x’s)
We live we love
We forgive and never give up
Cuz the days we are given are gifts from above
Today we remember to live and to love
There is a man who waits for the tests
To see if the cancer has spread yet
And now he asks, “so why did I wait to live till it was time to die?
If I could have the time back how I’d live
Life is such a gift
So how does this story end?
Well this is your story and it all depends
So don’t let it become true
Get out and do what we were meant to do
Chorus: (2 x’s)
Waking up to another dark morning
People are mourning
The weather in life outside is storming
But what would it take for the clouds to break
For us to realize each day is a gift somehow someway
So get our heads up out of the darkness
And spark this new mindset and start to live life cuz it ain’t gone yet
And tragedy is a reminder to take off the blinders
And wake up and live the life we’re supposed to take up
Moving forward with all our heads up cuz life is worth living
Chorus: (3 x’s)

"Lifesong"
Empty hands held high
Such small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight
May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You
Chorus:
Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign your name to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You
Lord, I give my life
A living sacrafice
To reach a world in need
To be Your hands and feet
So may the words I say
And the things I do make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to you
Chorus:
(2x’s)
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Let my lifesong sing to You
Chorus: (2x’s)

I like the original Vacation movie.
I have them all on DVD,but the first is about the only one I watch anymore.
I love the Wally World scenes with John Candy.
I also like the scenes when they visit their cousins (because their cousins, especially cousin Eddie remind me of my relatives so much).

My oldest brother used to watch TOS reruns back in the 70s.I have really faint memories of watching it with him,and of playing with his Trek toys (he had a plastic fold-out Enterprise bridge playset with a turbolift spinning thing). He had a lot of the Mego figures....
I don't remember if I liked it or not as a kid.I guess,I did.
I was more into the Bionic Man back then.
I got hooked on Trek around the time of the release of The Wrath of Khan.

I haven't been here much lately (and when I have been,it's usually just been a quick single post and I'm gone again)....
I remember a post about Rikerchick being sick.
Is she doing any better?
(I hope so)
B)
I don't really know her,but I hate hearing about anybody being ill.

Hmm.... B)

I liked the way former major leaguer Dante Bichette congratulated his son (pitched for Florida) and gave him a big grin and a thumbs up,after the poor kid left the game, knowing his team was going to loose.
That was awesome.
I guess I'll be cheering for Hawai'i.
My boys from California lost.So did Louisiana (I wanted to see a CA-LA U.S. final).

Back in 1988 Vince McMahon was approached by a young guy from Jamestown,New York. The youngster had created a pro wrestling games (played with dice and a pencil) while sitting in class at high school.Would the WWF be interested in buying the game idea?
Nope.Vince wasn't.
So the young guy gets a loan from his grandmother and prints up his first batch of games.
The game Champions of the Galaxy became an instant success.Today,it's hugely popular and generates that once young guy a small fortune every year in merchandise sales.
Wonder if Vince regrets that move?
Probably not.

I'm just curious (though,I think I know the answer already)....
I see Canadian posters at many different sites post "W00t" a lot.
What does that mean?
B)
-
Meh...
I'm getting used to it.
I spend between 2 and 5 hours a day at my Christian website, and I am always the only one there. B)
I'll have some members one day, though. The Lord will send them.

I didn't want George Romero's original Night of the Living Dead to be remade, because the film was so iconic, and so well acted (especially by Duane Jones).
Not just a horror film,NOTLD dealt with racism, and lots of issues which were taboo in the 1960s.
But,I have to say that Tony Todd nailed his performance in the role made famous by Duane Jones. And I usually like anything Patricia Tallman is in,since she's an awesome actor as well.
I suppose I'd hate to see classic religious films like The Ten Commandments or King of Kings remade,UNLESS...they are remade by a Christian production company.Secular studios wouldn't do justice to these films, and would probably throw in a lot of things which would be offensive to Christians.

Next Thing You Know (Thirteen)"
I remember when I was thirteen
I saw a picture on my TV screen
The Reverend Billy Graham and the people sing “Just As I Am”
And I felt like You were talking to me
And the whole world seemed to fade away
Until I heard my mother say
“Son, are you ok? Do you wanna pray?
And that became the hour I first believed
Chorus:
And next thing you know
I’m high and flying, next thing you know
My heart is in Your hands, next thing you know
There is no denying, next thing you know
I’m a brand new man
Well I wish I could say I always stayed right there
And I did until my freshman year
But the world was pulling me along way from thirteen
And You were calling but I didn’t hear
Still I knew there was something more
So one day my knees hit the dorm room floor
I said “If You’re there and if You really care
Come and talk to me like I was thirteen”
Chorus:
I Got a picture in my head today
Of how Heaven might look someday
I see the people there so I pull up a chair
And their stories they blew me away
‘Cause I can see it on every face
Their evidence of grace
And as I listen it occurs to me
Everybody’s got their own thirteen
(2X’s)
So what’s your story about His glory?
You gotta find your place in the history of grace
Chorus: (2X’s)

Augustine of Hippo, 'the greatest of the fathers', a libertine turned philosopher, is revered equally by Catholics and Protestants
B)
I don't think so.
I'm a protestant and I've heard of Augustine, but revere him?
Not especially.
And I have never ever heard of a St.Hermes..... B)
Meh...
I'm messing up your topic.I'd better skeedaddle.

I love the Little League World Series.
I watch it every year.
I missed most of the game between Curacao and Guam.
But I watched California beat Florida (I was cheering for California, but felt terrible for those kids from Florida...especially when most of them started crying after the final out) B)
I also watched Hawaii-Louisiana,and assorted other international games.
Whenever I have the time,I'm watching it.
The professionals could learn a lot from these kids.Might do their overblown egos some good.
-
It would be either Sarek or Spock.
I guess Sarek.

Time Bandits.
I badgered my dad for a month to take to to the drive-in to see that movie. Then, because it was the second film on the double-feature I fell asleep about 15-minutes into it. B)
I caught it later on cable (years later).

Pollution should be a concern.
We've already shown a nearly complete disregard for the well-being of our own environment here on Earth.
Until we do right by this one planet God has given us,we don't deserve the freedom to export ourselves to other worlds.
-
My dad told me that when he was 5-years old (that would have been 1932),he and his friends would walk a few miles to watch public hangings in rural Louisiana. He said whole families would show up with picnic baskets and bright blankets,as if they were coming to watch a 4th of July fireworks display instead of a man being put to death. B)

There's a massive GreyHound bus terminal in my area.
As a kid I used to hang out there in the arcade, plugging quarters into Pac-man and Galaxian, and chowing down at the food court.
If that terminal ever went away, this area wouldn't feel like "home" anymore. B)

That reminds me of a night on C2C,where some guy called up and claimed he was a time-traveler from 2012 (or something....this was in 2001 or so).
So,Bell and Noory are yaking it up with this clown (who was quite serious),when they started to get phone calls from dozens and dozens of callers all claiming to be either time-travelers or alien-human hybrids with knowledge of the future.A huge fight broke out between the time-travelers and future-seers about what great catastrophe was imminent and on what day our world would be destroyed by plague, astral collision, nuclear holocaust, alien invasion,etc.....
That was a hoot.

"The Valley Song"
You have led me to sadness
I have carried this pain
On a back bruised, nearly broken
I'm crying out to You
I will sing of Your mercy
That leads me through valleys of sorrow
To rivers of joy
When death like a gypsy
Comes to steal what I love
I will still look to the heavens
I will still seek Your face
But I fear you aren’t listening
Because there are no words
Just the stillness and the hunger
For a faith that assures
Alleluia, alleluia
Alleluia, alleluia
While we wait for rescue
With our eyes tightly shut
Face to the ground using our hands
To cover the fatal cut
Though the pain is an ocean
Tossing us around, around, around
You have calmed greater waters
Higher mountains have come down
