  1. I know this is a rather old topic but I read a lot of Trek books so I thought I'd give some recommendations. From TOS I really liked "Flag Full Of Stars" & "Timetrap." From TNG, "The Children Of Hamlin" is pretty good. I'm currently reading "The Valiant," which portarys Picard as a Lt. on the Stargazer. It's the first Stargazer novel. So far I would recommend it as well. "Mosaic," from Voyager is a good read if you want to know the history of Janeway.

I haven't read any DS9(as it's my least favorite of all the Treks) or Enterprise books, though I do plan on reading, "The Good That Men Do." I've heard it brings Trip back after the end of the show. Can't wait to get that one!

  2. OMG! With eps like, "Year of Hell," "Timeless," and even "Endgame" how can anybody say Voyager's the weakest! Granted there were good eps of all the series, overall Voyager is, IMHO the strongest. With a female Captain like Janeway that wouldn't take any junk off anybody, I mean, c'mon. As far as overall weakness goes here's how I would rank them--strongest to weakest.

    1)Voyager (strongest)

    2)TNG

3)Enterprise (had it been given a chance to keep going, might be rated higher)

    4)TOS

    5)DS9 (weakest--downright boring to me)

  3. "Year Of Hell 1&2" rank as my 2nd fav Voyager ep--2nd to "Timeless." I like the concept of the crew not being in total control as they usually are. To me it brings out more reality and makes it more than just fiction. Makes me feel more like I can identify with their humanity. Sometimes the crews of the Treks almost seem like superheros.

    K. I'm done rambling. :LOL

  4. Janeway all the way! Followed by Tores and Seven. Never got into Seska and thought the Kes character was really, really weak. I think it was mostly the writing for the character cause Jennifer Lien seems like she did a good job with what she was given to work with. I've even heard rumors that's why she was replaced--because she wanted more for Kes than she was given. But, in the end, who knows for sure, eh?

  5. Maybe a Star Trek fan is someone who likes just one Trek and a "Trekkie" or "Trekker" is someone devoted to Trek no matter which series. For me, if it's Trek then I watch (although afterward I may wish I hadn't), so I guess I'm a Trekkie. A distinction between just a fan and a Trek devotee is needed.

I do spend money on different merchandise to build my Trek collection. But wearing uniforms and/or pointy ears may be going a bit too far. Whoa! I never thought I'd say something like that!

  6. That's a great idea. I'd give my input for sure. I'm actually working on a ST novel but since you have to be an established Sci-Fi author and invited by Paramount to write one, the world will probably never see it. This would be a great way for that to happen.

Hey. Ya never know. Dreams do come true...
