Having Paul McGillion as Scotty would be a really good choice, IMHO. Of all the ones mentioned for the role so far, I think he would make James Doohan the proudest. Maybe Gene too.

Man, so many remakes lately makes me think there's no originality left in Hollywood these days. I feel the same as Alterego.

I've read Sarek but it's been about 7-8 years. It's sitting on my bookshelf so maybe I should pick it up again after I finish "Power Hungry (already halfway through that one)."

Coming across the "Botony Bay" might have been cool too. Also, a visit from Gary 7 might have made a good episode.
An appearance from Gary7 would've been great, as long as he had Isis with him.
Just one problem: The Daedalus class wasn't in development until after the Earth-Romulan war, or at least very into it.
An oversight on my part. I'm just a sucker for the Daedalus Class. Maybe if they'd had the Romulan War we could've at least been introduced to the Daedalus.

Nobody else? Well then let me add another one:
In the TOS episode, "A Piece Of The Action" The USS Horizon left a book about the '30's mobs about a hundred years or so before the time of TOS. The people patterned their society after what the book described. I think it would've been cool to have seen something on Enterprise about that. Maybe we'd even get to see the Horizon on screen. I just love those Daedalus class ships. Simple yet effective design.

The Cowboys mentioned originally above is an Australian Rugby team. This raises a question, at least for me. How many posters take the time to read through all the posts on a topic and then comment, rather than read the topic headline, the last post or two and jump in with a comment? I don't mean to sound overly critical, but it does make me wonder. Maybe there should be a poll on this.
O.K. Just a bit of a misunderstanding here. I did read all the posts and understand it was about Australian Rugby. I was just trying to be a bit humorous. I guess I failed. :blush 2:

I read a lot of Trek books and I'm curious what books others are reading, just finished, or just started.
I just finished "The Valiant"
and started on "Power Hungry."
I highly recommend "The Valiant"

OK. I'm done with "Power Hungry" (written by Howard Weinstein). So now I'm trying to decide if I should start on a new one or reread one I haven't read in a while (like "Sarek").
I have to say that "Power Hungry" wasn't one of the better Trek books I've read. I can't put my finger on it. The best I can say is that it wasn't Trek enough. If not for the Trek characters, it could've been any Science Fiction story. Substitute any other characters and it would've been about the same. On a scale of 1-10, I'd have to rate Power Hungry a 2, maybe a 3. But that would be a stretch.
