The first time I saw "Caretaker" I thought it was a bad omen for Voyager. But now, I can see how it set the tone for the whole series. I'm especially glad they introduced "The Doctor."

Would you happen to know the titles of those books by any chance?
-
I don't know about worst but a Vulcan would have to be the most boring.

just before you get too excited, remember all the money they threw at the motion picture...
Exactly why I'll keep praying that all that money actually does some good.
-
That may simply be due to the fact that Enterprise is more on the minds of people than the others since it is the "newest" Trek and Sci-Fi is running it right now. Just a thought.
-
With that kind of money floating around the Trek universe, maybe JJ will be able to make a decent addition to Trek lore after all. I'm gonna keep praying, though.

This was an ok episode. A lot of it was pretty bland. However, I thought Jason did an excellent job with the character. I know that he's a big Trek fan and said he always wanted to be on Trek. I think I read somewhere that the character was written especially for Jason.
Anyway...gave it a 3.

The number of times (at least) it seems like I've seen "Spock's Brain" and it hasn't gotten any better yet.

I have read a lot of star trek novels, now I have ordered the last novel which was printed in this year:
Resistance (Star Trek) [Mass Market Paperback] by Dillard
in this novel there should be the continuation of the story of picard, worf and B 4 after nemesis, it seems to be very intriguing...
Great. I can add that to my wish list along with "The Good That Men Do." Thanks for the heads-up.

Harriman was also given, essentially half a ship and, what seemed like, an inexperienced crew. I know he was no Kirk and Kirk would kick butt with less than that, but I'd like to find out how Harriman would grow as a Captain. He feel responsible for Kirk's death and that would change anyone.
-
I voted for Kirk but Picard would be a real close second. The biggest reason I didn't vote for Picard is because he seemed to have a tendency to be more of a father figure than a gung-ho man of action like Kirk. Also, and I'm not really sure why, but since "Generations" I've always liked the potential for Harriman too.

If Starfleet was a reality today, you entered and graduated from the Academy, which department/position would you want to be in?
I choose Engineering because I like to tinker with, build, design, and fix things.

Well, I decided to go with one I'd never read so I started on "Enemy Unseen." Since I've been reading TNG books for a while I thought a TOS book (movie era) would be a nice change. But, so far it's a rather slow read. Hopefully I'll get through it soon. Considering I can usually read a Trek book in a week or less, "Enemy Unseen" is kinda strange. I've been trying to read it for about a week and I'm only barely into it. Since it's got Kirk in it, maybe it'll turn out to be a good one.

I have almost the same thoughts about the new movie. But I can't imagine a Trek movie being as bad as Insurrection.

This is pretty cool, but...
Jeri Ryan wore as Seven of Nine in the series 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'....how could I have missed Seven on DS9? :)
