It is refreshing to see a Star Trek star that appreciates the doors his fame has opened for himself.

One of my fave TNG eps. I give it a 5. A great story about a Federation witchhunt for a Romulan collaborator winds up on Jean-luc's front door when one of his crew, Simon Tarsus is believed to be the guy that the Federation is looking for because it is discovered he lied about being 1/4 Romulan on his application to Starfleet. Picard at his best and most argumentative. The courtroom scene was done so well that William Kunstler would weep. Just a great all around ep to watch.

I gave it a 4. Enter a new evil breed: The Cardassians. Gotta love the early uniforms and the headgear that these guys are sporting  . My fave trek race by far and to be honest I think that this ep holds up quite well. Marc Alaimo's performance as Gul Macet really defined how the Cardassians approached their enemies was so masterfully done that he became the legendary Gul Dukat on DS9.

Yeah, i gotta agree that this was worthy of a 5. Great ending and our Capitan is rescued from cybernetic limbo. Some real good moments and suspense make this one better than part 1 imo.

I gave it a 4. Very good ep and it was the turning point of the series imo. Elizabeth Dennehy was so good at being a know it all that Riker knew he would have to rely on her expertise in defeating the Borg and rescuing Jean-luc. Great cliffhanger moment although parts of this ep seemed a bit rushed. Still, it holds up well.

Kes is my fave Voyager character. A very good story of her life. I gave it a 5.

And Chakotay can't do karate...he can just summon his stupid spirit guide.GhostofMajorHayes knows karate?....
Please elaborate!I know I know........ :)
We now return to our regularly scheduled topic.......
In order to stay on topic, yes...he knows karate. He's the Ralph Macchio of my heart.

I'm also a black belt in Tae Kwon Doe. I also taught karate for years.......can I be the Chuck Norris of your heart?.....
kor, you've got to be the only tae kwon do "black belt" that misspells his art  Taekwondo is one of only a few arts that i hold black belt ranking in and FYI Chuck Norris is a Tang soo do expert, not a karate expert.
I have been actively practicing for 26 years and an instructor for 15 years.
I did misspell that didn't I?.....
I just mentioned Chuck because he's cool. I really didn't know which art he practiced. Please tell me which other arts you hold a black belt in. I'm incredibly impressed!...

Not a prob. my friend. :) Chuck is cool. I even recall when he gave honorary black belts to then president George H.W. Bush and later former AK Gov. and current Rep. contender Mike Huckabee. Norris' work with at risk youth and his Kick Drugs out of America program are a great outlet for some otherwise troubled kids to find their place in the world. He is cool. I will PM you the rest of the info. If i don't get a chance to talk to you have a great holiday season. It is good to meet another trek fan that is also a martial artist.

Yes, that would be interesting. I think that the fact that Rover would not be adversely affected by a crash could make this quite a learning experience for scientists to view an asteroid crashing into a planet-which has never been witnessed to date.
-
Cool fact. I am starting to see why this is such an interesting topic.

Welcome aboard!!! Nice to meet you. Now, you know one person.

This was the ultimate DS9 ep. Redemption in the case of Damar, destiny being fulfilled in the case of Sisko, and the defeat of the Dominion. What more could a fan want in an ep? A 5 for sure.
-
No doubts about that.

-
I'll take your word for that. Damar has always been one of my fave characters. I wish he could've been in this ep. He could've taught his mentor a thing or two.

-
Yeah, I never considered the whole hooker thing. I guess he must've learned from his mentor Dukat about how to be a "player", huh?

-
Thats another possibility. In light of the ep, it seems likely that he was always on the prowl. Recall that there was a Legate that could quote Dukat word for word as he worked his charm.
-
I'm telling you. I agree with you 10000000000000% there!!! Imo, the Bajoran women were the hottest in all of trek, no wonder Dukat was always after them!
-
Yeah, I think you are right. There's just something about that wrinkled nose that makes them so .....desirable. :blush 2:

I gave it a 5. Who knew that Dukat was involved with Kira's mom? I didn't but that surprise made for a great story and in a way it showed a softer side to Dukat, intergalactic playboy. Good action and it showed that Kira was above vengeance by saving her mom and Dukat from what would have been certain death.

I rated it a 2. Neat story, but the plot wasn't acted in a manner commensurate with the gravity of the story.
