  1. What keeps me watching is the interaction between the characters..Especially between the different alien characters. I think that's why I like DS9 so much. There were so many different alien characters that needed to form relationships, good and bad..Course what hooked me first was the interaction between Spock and the humans in TOS..

Special effects and starships are cool but it wouldn't be Star Trek without interesting character interaction IMO..

  2. Well, my Sister in Law just did! The car is in California. she is flying out there and driving it all the way back to Massachusetts. I was shocked by this. I've bought many things on EBAY but I don't think I would buy a car there..

    How about you all ??

  3. That's terrible about the insurance not paying for the damage to your car or injuries to you..That's lousy..I've never heard of such a thing especially being hit from behind like that..I hope your feeling better soon..

I agree with RC..Your English is probably better than most Americans..Including myself.. :P

  4. Happy birthday to her yeomanship (or yeowomanship? ). i wonder how she's doing these days (hopefully relaxed after all those years of taking signatures and communications messages). Btw, how'd you get the image of her card up, larger then it is in actuality, and still keep all the detail so fine?

That card does look good doesn't it? I can't take credit for it though..That's how I found it on the internet..I did a search for Yeoman Rand with Google and found those pics..

  5. We're not saying that they look identical LOTB, but they do have the same basic shape. And the biggest part that is the same is that flip-up upper part..It may be the closest that we come to the TOS communicator..

  6. Thanks Red Shirt..You're right, it is a similar design..If I were ever to get a cell phone it would be something like that one..I just wanted to see how close we are getting to the communicator design..I have seen similar ones myself..

    Hi Spacetigger,

Sorry, I just realised upon rereading it that my last post probably didn't come across as very friendly. It's just that when I went out to get my Startac, I'd chosen it because of the communicator similarity. I even flipped it open Kirk style and said "Kirk here!" when drunk a few times. Your post reminded me of those days.

    Cheers,

Not at all Red Shirt..There was nothing wrong with your post..In fact I'm glad you posted those links so I could check it out..I still feel that the design is similar and is probably as close as we'll get to the original communictor.

  8. I have never really been able to get interested in Lost in Space for some reason. I've been sitting here trying to figure out why Star Trek captured my imagination so much and not Lost in Space..I still don't have an answer except to say that the show just seemed silly and ridiculous to me..And Star Trek didn't..Weren't they made at about the same time? Why does Lost in Space seem so much older and out of date to me? Perhaps it was the Dr. Smith character (Oh the pain!)..Or the Robot (Danger Will Robinson!)..It just never appealed to me...
