  1. Who has seen Seabiscuit yet? I saw it this past weekend and it was great. I give it 10/10 stars.

Based Upon: The true story of the 1930s race horse, Seabiscuit, as depicted in the book "Seabiscuit: An American Legend", by Laura Hillenbrand. The story of Seabiscuit was previously the (fictionalized) basis for a 1949 film, The Story of Seabiscuit, starring Shirley Temple. Real-life jockey Red Pollard was replaced by the fictional character of "Ted Knowles", played by Lon McCallister, in that film.

Premise: This is the true story of a former bicycle repairman, Charles Howard (Bridges), who made his fortune introducing the automobile to the American West, and who owned a small, knobbly-kneed horse called Seabiscuit. Howard teamed up with a half-blind ex-boxing prize fighter, Red Pollard (Maguire), who became the horse's jockey and a former "mustang breaker" Wild West performer called "The Lone Plainsman", Tom Smith (Cooper), who became the horse's trainer. As the United States struggled through the Great Depression, people around the country followed with rapt interest of the Seabiscuit story, leading to his win of the Horse of the Year honors in 1938. (Real life Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens plays jockey George Woolf, who rode Seabiscuit in a famous race against an "unbeatable" horse called War Admiral; McCarron also plays a War Admiral jockey; Banks plays Bridges' wife; Corley and O'Neill play Red's parents)

  2. Who has seen Cabin Fever yet? I saw it the other day and it was ok movie. I give it a 2/10 stars.

Premise: Five college friends (three guys and two girls) head off to the woods for a weekend of drinking, partying and fooling around... but as they sit at their campfire their first night, they are approached by a blood-soaked hermit who lives in the woods who has been infected with some sort of flesh-eating bacteria/virus/disease that causes skin and flesh to melt away in a bloody, gooey mess. As they too start to catch the bug, those who are not yet affected react to those who are with paranoia and hostility, like they're some sort of monster instead of just being sick... and then the locals find out they've got the bug.

Filming: Production of this movie took place in the spring of 2002 in High Point, North Carolina and at Camp Raven Knob, a boy scout camp near Mt. Airy, North Carolina (which was the location of the cabin which was the setting for most of the movie).

    Genre: Comedy, Horror, Teen

  3. Who's going to see The Haunted Mansion movie when it comes out? I will see it when it comes out and I like the ride at Disneyland.

Based Upon: The popular Disney theme park attraction, which the studio hopes to turn into a series of family-oriented movies. There has already been a made-for-TV movie (complete with Steve Guttenberg) based on a more recent ride, Tower of Terror. There are Haunted Mansion attractions at Walt Disney World (Florida), Disneyland (California), and one at Disneyland Paris (it's called Phantom Manor there).

Filming: Production is scheduled to start on January 6th, 2003 (pushed back a month from December 1st, 2002; first scheduled for November 4th, 2002) in New Orleans (locations) and Los Angeles (sets).

Release Date: November 26th, 2003 (wide)
