it's a great idea. The series doesn't need the Arnold crutch to lean on, and we will see if people like story or if they go only to see Arnold. I like the idea of a movie without him. From what I heard, they are planning a prequel movie set in the future with John leading the humans against the machines. Sounds good to me, it'd be neat if they ended the movie with John sending Kyle to the past

That sounds ok to me.

There's an old saying that "hard cases make bad law" - in other words creating a legal precedent with potentially disruptive consequences in order to fix the plight of a few animals is not a smart way to go. I'm sure there are foundations out there that would take the chimps - I'm guessing the people bringing the suit want themselves declared guardians because I don't think chimps could open bank accounts and write thier own checks. :P

 

And the activist is quoting the "high end" of dna similarities - which different groups put at 97, 98 or 99. 1, 2 or 3% percent may not seem like much but it makes the difference between being human or not.

 

Fruit flies share about 60% dna with humans, mice 90%.

I know and cabbages share 40%, but these high end animals have thoughts and feelings not unlike our own, and like tribal Humans they don't need money, just the right to exist happily.
