  1. I'm all out of love....I'm so lost without you.....

Ok, just kidding. I'm head over heels with a woman who just got out of a bad relationship, which of course, means I'm screwed, and not in a good way. She's knows my feelings for her, and she's admitted that she has very strong feelings for me, but is still feeling crushed right now. You might say, my pattern is locked in the buffer waiting for her to accept me aboard her ship.

    Too cheesy? Sorry.

  2. Firstly, the article grossly misses the fact that Ray Charles had died first before they put out a movie on him. Brown, while 72, still seems to be kicking like an army mule.

Secondly, LeVar would have to go through a lot of vocal coaching to get Brown's sometimes gravelly voice down well enough to play him. Not to mention the weight he'd have to gain to do later Brown. That's just not an enviable role to do.

  3. You know you're a Star Trek fan when......

Your neighbors won't loan you their drill anymore after you complained it goes no higher than "Stun."

You think to "adorn" something means to put ridges on it.

You bought a copy of "Common People", and not as a joke.

You say your favorite brand of rum is "Picardi".

You refer to "Old Yellow Eyes Is Back" as "Spiner Tap."

You accidentally order a "Deep Dish Nine" pizza.

You've actually spray painted a banana barrette steel gray.

You complain to an engineer that your Scotti board "is giving you all she's got!!"

You respond to the question "What you doin'?" with a Scottish accent (say that one aloud, you'll get it.)

You tried to put your ears in the pencil sharpener.

You criticized Perot's campaigns by saying "Do you really want a Ferengi in office?"

You secretly refer to your boss as "Tamalek."

  4. Yeah, I was gonna say Guinan.

Was she really pee'd at them, or more layed down and damn right scared?

    Both.

    And Picard.

    My case has been rested.

    Ha, you don't own that.

  5. Eh, I thought she was just a shrill annoying thing. "Captain, I sense a presence.." :inlove: Not attractive in that skimpy uniform thing from the first season, especially with that chia pet she called hair.  I wouldn't want her as a counselor, her techniques were terrible, all she did was ask "How do you feel today/about that/about them.."

That's about as good as any counselor as I've ever been to was.

  6. Thomas has eight years of LIFE in general to catch up on. Imagine being on a deserted island or in a coma since 1997. You don't just have to catch up with the woman you love, you've got things like Clinton's impeachment, Bush II's entire presidency, 9/11, probably the O.J. Simpson trial, "Who Let The Dogs Out", "Family Guy", "Shakespeare In Love", Snoop Dogg, etc. to catch up on. It's almost unfair to ask a woman that you're not even married to to be patient with you while you try and adjust back into life.

I feel the same applies with Thomas here. Deanna, not even knowing of Thomas's existence, has moved on with her life. This newfound passion is not enough for them to go on, so marrying Thomas does not seem to be an option.

I don't think Will would have been right either. He moved on beyond her once. I'm not familiar enough with the character development that led to their marriage, but it does not seem that he would have been a good husband, despite what Lwoxanna said.

  7. I can't help but wonder, and ladies I'm hoping you can give me some answers, how Picard's complete ineptitude and plain uncomfortability with the fairer gender make him such a stud. Picard had social graces and could be a good host, but a lover he was almost never. We really only see his amorous side with Vash (I think that was her name), and of course with Beverly. Jean-Luc has to be ganged up on just to send him on vacation, for crying out loud. Almost a text-book definition of a workaholic.

Riker, on the other hand, had charm, a sense of humor, some artistic talent, and obvious virility. Granted, at times, he could be quite transparent, and we might in our time call him a player. However, as an romantic pursuit, Riker seems the obvious choice.

Why does Picard lead this poll, then? The only things I can think of that Picard has over Riker is an accent, more power, and more professional maturity. And perhaps a better understanding of history, which stems from his love of archaeology.
