Working an overnight shift. Good times, good times.

Don't mind an occasional cappuccino, but other than that, I cannot stand coffee. Not without a minimum of 5 sugars in it.

Love West as the mayor. Funny stuff. He comes up with some stuff off mic that just rules.

Love bowling. Took a one-credit bowling class in college (it was a filler to accompany the other 18 credit-hours I was taking that semester.) Our team won the class championship, and we got automatic 4.0s in the class for it. :(
Still a pretty bad bowler though. Have never gotten a turkey yet. Choke when trying to get the third one.

Had both growing up, but took to cats more. Still love dogs, though.

Welcome home, man. Not an easy thing to go through, and it sounds like it was a tough call for you. Best wishes in finding yourself in a civilian world.

It's a song that drags on for way too long, but it seems the one you want is "Old Shep." Elvis did a version of it early in his career. I personally don't care much for it, but as far as animals having feelings and all, right up your alley.

I think it's aging really nicely. It's still exemplary TV, and kicks the crap out of a lot of other stuff that's on.
What also help it is that its tones are always bright, in contrast to a lot of other stuff that you can tell the age of it by the tints. Match Game is definitely 70s. You can tell just by looking at the set. Murder She Wrote, not as telling, but some defiinte signs of its time period, etc. etc. TNG, just from the appearances of set, videographic toning, etc. looks like it could have been off-network syndication from anytime in the past 15 years, including today. It doesn't look as aged. That may change, however, as technology itself progresses. I'm still on 4x3 TV myself, but perhaps it'll look so much worse on a 16x9 HDTV for me.

I actually quite liked The Inner Light. It seems to me that what you guys are saying is that the placement of its airdate is what bothers you, just following the experience with the Borg. To me, that's a pathetic reason to hate a single episode.
As far as the critique of the planet, my thought was simply that they figured they had to start skimping on resources, using them conservatively, and scaled back somewhat in technology to focus more on making sure their planet could survive. That was the impression I got.
Let's not forget, we've got our own version of that probe in interstellar space right now: Voyager 2, I believe it is. Not as sophisticated, but it's even got Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" in it as an example of our culture.

It worked somewhat, but it just shows what a difficult character Tasha Yar was to build and give dimension to.

Encounter at Farpoint. Did a nice job putting things in perspective, in terms of characters, and even direction that the show would go in. Plus, Q!!!!!
-
I said it then, I'll say it again: Q.
John DeLancie portrayed him so wonderfully. Absolutely believable as a character, and impossible to hate, in a Count Yousekevitch kind of way. Simply magnificent.
Favorite regular cast member: Probably Picard. Riker and Geordi are close behind though.
I'd have to agree that Tasha didn't get treated equally in terms of plots or character development, but Yar's character just seemed like one that was so hard to work with, too.

Meh. What I disliked about him saving the day is that it got too predictable. It even comes off as a bit self-glorifying of Roddenberry in that aspect. On the other hand, they rounded out his character nicely in the episode where the whole crew "got drunk" due to that virus. Showed his mischievous side that almost never comes up.

I would like to quickly add any episodes that deal with Klingon food :lol:Can their possibly be a race with worse cuisine?
Yeah, the British.
For me, I'd have to say "The Game." That's the only one that gave me a nightmare the night after seeing it.

Troi.
Spock and Alexander are good contenders, though.

Duran Duran's "Hungry Like The Wolf"

1. Q
2. Picard
3. Spock
4. LaForge
5. Troi

I'm with the majority here. Star Trek at the very least, needs to be on hiatus until they can get people with imagination comparable to Roddenberry's (equal or greater is asking too much. Comparable is acceptable) to create and write for it. It may never happen, but I would rather it never happen than for us to settle for that which is ersatz.
A better question is, is a decade too long? 20ish years was apparently not long enough for Star Wars fans who were utterly disappointed in the writing of episodes 1-3 (I myself was more bummed by the cheaply done digital effects). Beatle fans waited 35 years for Free As A Bird and Real Love (the latter being one of my all time favorite Beatle songs). Fans of the old "Jumanji" book are now getting "Zathura" after roughly 20 years. Indeed, it may very well be that 10 years may not be long enough.

Q. No doubt about it. John de Lancie played him absolutely brilliantly. He made Q live. At times, very somber and dismissive. On a whimsical day, more lively and animated than Robin Williams on speed.
Lore was an interesting counterpoint, but sometimes watching episodes with Lore in it, it's clear the purpose of Lore was to allow Spiner to be emotional on camera, though they did that in other ways at times too.

Good old NES for me. Recently, I've been collecting some old Megaman games. Just got the new top-loading NES. Very compact and lightweight.
