  1. A Betazoid would be unnerving, but they would have experience with people thinking things about them and probably wouldn't mind... the most irritating I think would be a Ferengi. Always quoting some stupid rules while trying to sell me something...

  2. Grass and dirt I have had in the form of jelly beans, wasn't that bad. The grass was actually kind of good.

It's worth saying that in Asia there is a type of drink made from grass. I haven't had it but I could see the appeal. Probably involved in that flavor.

As for the others... no thank you. Salty, maybe, but not the "stinky football sock". Not sure what that would be... perhaps surfer. In fact I could see the whole thing being flavored with black salt. It would fit the description.

  3. WTF is this about? She just got here, and she didn't even make any enemies yet!

I didn't even get a chance to hit on her yet!

That must be the problem, you didn't make her feel wanted.

    You insensitive clod! :)

  4. Ok, so I am programming a scifi game along the lines of Starfleet Command, but set in a totally different game universe. It's far from being done, but I've been thinking about things down the line in development. One of them is weapons.

I would like to break the normal scifi "magical beam" cliches (like phasers- anyone really know what they are supposed to be? I'm an engineer in a ST RP and I don't know beyond treknobabble). I want to have more realistic weapons, the problem is, most realistic weapons are ether archaic by scifi standards (like projectile guns) or don't work well for a game (invisible beams, like lasers and microwave cannons). Theres also some flaws with basic Star Trek weapon tech- why fire a torpedo when you could just fire a beam of anti-matter?

So a few ideas I had were:

Anti-Matter Beam Weapons, to act as the normal "heavy weapon" for capitol/capitol combat.

Anti-Matter Missiles, with tracking systems, to act as a primary weapon against smaller ships or specific systems on larger ships (perhaps with the ability to penetrate shields).

Something like a machine gun (perhaps a laser), to act as a light weapon, for anti-fighter and maybe anti-missile.

A few things I thought of but didn't like were "Lightning guns", that could actually be collected by the target ship; and Plasma/Ion cannons, that seemed frail yet costly compared to A/M beams.

Any other interesting scifi weapons anyone can think of?

  5. Success makes me happy... any kind really. So basically, acomplishing something I try to accomplish...

And food. Mexican more so. No I'm not fat, ether.

Sex? My picture should be in wikipedia's article on "geeks". Money? What to buy... I'd probably hire a programmer.

Religion irritates me greatly... apparently I'm alone, but then again this is fox news. I can see why those that buy it like it, though.

  6. Forget the phrase: Don't sweat technology. Sweat and technology = a bad combination.

I can't believe these people risking their lives for their *$#@ cell phones. Buy a new phone!

I don't know how you could think it would still work, ether. Most cell phones I have seen can't take a 3 foot fall, let alone being submerged for a prolonged time...

  7. I am divided.

STFC 3 was probably my favorite, but could have been improved a lot.

Bridge Commander was great but seemed too limited.

BOTF had too many technical problems for me, at least. I was trying to run a cracked ver on a recent computer... I tried for months to get it for real but couldn', and don't have any old working computers around. It was mostly unplayable, crashing at bad times. Seemed rather limited as well.

I voted STFC3, since I think it was probably the best of them all. They all, though, could use a lot of work.
