  1. MeeMaw, I have had the same gripe. Also, when Futuristic Biff goes back in time and gives himself the Alamac, how was he able to return to the future he came from with the court house and everything? Surely when he went back in time and gave himself the Alamac then the alternate 'casino future' would have ensued and he would have returned to that future. How come the change only spread as far as 1985? Ah, my brain again! I loved the Twin Pines Mall and then after Marty mows down a young pine tree in 1955, the Lone Pine Mall!

hey now, its just a movie, it was all for fun, and not to mention it was for kids, and young adults too. their not gonna have a clue about the whole time travel paradox's etc. they sure wouldnt understand if he came back at that point and everything was different, they made it simple for anyone to follow, thats all. IMO

I know, and they are all three great movies. I love each one. They make you think.

Oh and Pro, I had never thought of that. That would change the whole thing then wouldn't it?

*Monty Python Gumby* MY BRAIN HURTS! (Banging two bricks on either side of my head)

:) I had to put the klingon smilie in here!

  2. I loved this eppy. Of course, I love the thought of time travel. Being able to go back and see what things were like. Not to mess with anything but just to see. I love the movie series Back to the Future, but I have one very small itch at the back of my mind that I can't scratch. When Marty goes back to his time, at the end of movie 3, it's not really his time because he's changed it. The parents that he returns to are not the parents that loved and raised him, they are different people, because of his interferance. He really doesn't know those people at all. We are the people we are because of what we go through, change one little thing, and we are different. So Marty's parents are not the same people because they would have gone through different things. But Marty was the same. Nothing had changed him, other than meeting his parents at his age. A little off topic, sorry! :)

  3. We so have cool hubbies, don't we!

Yes we do! :) It's probably because I've never made fun of his little crush on Sandra Bullock. :)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with a cool hubby! My main obsession is Harrison, then Trek. Of course, Mark started out playing Captain Kirk as a kid. His best buddy was Mr. Spock. He doesn't dwell on it like I do! :) According to him there are better things to do than sit around and watch tv all day! He will sit and watch with me, sometimes. One year he and the kids were looking for a b-day present for me and came home with a Data/Worf coffee mug. He said is 'this okay?' I said 'yeah!' and he said 'The kids said it was from your show.' He didn't watch much NG at the time. It's my fave mug to this day. *Used to be the Indiana Jones coffee mug from MGM until it got broken. :) * We've been married for 22 years this year. He's pretty wonderful! I love you, honey!

  4. Ok, I'm the opposite. I've always thought more women watched trek. Most of my trekkie friends are women.

I feel the same way! When I joined a ST group back in '76 they were all women. There was maybe 4 guys and about 10 women. Oh, by the way, I'm female. :)

  5. I would have loved to see more of the Tholians and what was the race that Clint Howard belonged to?  Didn't he serve Vanya?  It's been awhile since I've seen it and the race eludes me. Any one that can refresh my memory gets a large glass of Vanya on me! :innocent:  (I sure hope that's the name of the drink!)

I think he claimed to be apart of the first federation. And I looked it up on the Star Trek webpage, it's actually called Tranya. Apparently it made another appearance in a ds9 episode when Odo and Curzon became a single entity and ordered a round for him and Sisko.

Tranya! Sorry about the mess up. I remember that DS9 eppy.

  6. I'm not sure.  It would be like colourizing classic movies. Some prefer the original black & white version while others marvel at seeing it in colour.

I actually didn't like what Lucas did.  I prefer the original versions.

I'm with you Takara. I hate the idea of colorizing the B&W's. They are awesome the way they are. (Of course I'm into B&W movies.) I'm kinda like that with Star Wars, I liked what Lucas did but I prefer the original. I think they could probably sharpen the picture a little, brighten the colors, and THX it, but nothing like adding FX, it wouldn't be special then. It wouldn't be Original Trek. IMHO

  8. I'd forgotten about them...the ones I saw of course were LaVar, *forgive me* the guy who played Tuvoc, and Capt. Sisko. Those were the three that I saw.. So lets see we've found 5 so far...anyone else? Of course I could make this easy on myself and look in the IMDb...but that wouldn't be any fun.

  9. My hubby and I went on our weekly visit to see his mom at a nursing facility close to our home. I wore my fave T-shirt with Kirk and Spock on it. One of the ladies told me that she was trying to figure out a way to get my shirt. I was a tad confused but I asked her if she was a fan of the show. She said "Yes, from the very beginning!" She was so excited. It got me to thinking about when I have to go, or if I do, will I have my Indy and ST posters on the walls with my tribbles by my bedside? By then do you think we will have nursing facilities that cater only to specific tv shows? That would be a cool idea. The nurses and aides would have to wear television specific clothing and know about the show. Maybe that's one of the requirements for employment. And with ST there would have to be a OS wing, TNG wing, VOY wing, DS9 wing and an ENT wing. And at dinner they would have to have ST on the big screen tv. Sorry, I'm being silly now. Just something to think about.

  10. Okay no one has mentioned mine yet... Rats, big ugly sewer rats. I'm not really afraid of them, but I'm afraid of them. Does that make sense? They don't terrify me or cause me to run off screaming, that's not me, I'll stand my ground. I might wet myself, but I'd be standing there! ;) We lived next to a creek that runs through town and back in the 60's there really wasn't anything to prevent them from coming up toilets and basement sewer drains. When I was six I went to our basement stairs, where we kept our coats, and a rat had crawled up into my coat pocket. My dad came in and killed it, but still enough to make me shake my coat before I put it on, and a great story to tell around the Thanksgiving table. My mom was sitting on the toilet when one came up through the hole! Talk about freak! The funny thing is...I want to see the movie Willard, with Crispin Glover.

My other fears are pitch black rooms, or hallways, (I always leave a light on when I leave home, I never walk into a house that's dark, at least I try not to. I make the friend or homeowner go in first. That way if they get got, I can RUN for help! ) and a world without Trek!

  11. I don't know if it's a Trek book, and I'm not sure of the title. I think it's something like...Don't go down to the planet in a red shirt, or something like that. I'm not sure but I think that Red Shirt is in the title. Can anyone help me? :innocent:

  12. My brother had a chow, Chelsea. She was a beautiful dog about the same color as yours. She was very good until my nephews and niece came along. They had to give her to a couple with no children. She got very agressive and they didn't want it to get ugly. He's also had Rotties. Moses and Cassie had 13 babies, 4 of which died from parvo. They found out that the neighborhood kids' puppies had it and that's how they got it. They were devistated. They did nurse one back and Gideon is the light of my life. Although he does live with them, :( he's a wonderful dog. HUGE! That changed my opinion of Rotties forever! Moses had cancer, so he's gone, but Cassie is 9 and Gideon is I think 7. :innocent: I'm allergic to fur, otherwise I'd have a Rottie.

  13. Love dragons, but next Pegasus and then unicorns...I think it relates to my favourite books... Dragons of Pern, To Ride Pegasus and The Last Unicorn.

It's a toss up for me. I have collected Unicorns for years...at last count I had around 150, I think. :innocent: But there is something to be said about dragons. The Dragon riders of Pern, fantastic. Melanie (sp?) Rawn's Dragon Prince series (all six books) are excellent. I hate romance type stories, but that series was so wonderfully put together! I also like Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, wizards and magic. Unicorns, dragons, and pegasus are my three top faves! :(

  14. I don't believe in ghosts but sometimes I'd SWEAR my computer is possessed..

:) :innocent: The ghost of crappy computers visits me often.

I would swear my van is too! When it rains the lights flash and the electic locks lock and unlock! Although I know that it's electrical it's really weird and totally annoying. :(

  15. Good ol' American. :innocent:  Born and raised in Central Illinois.  Lots and LOTS of corn and soybeans around here!  Alas, no Maltese puppies.  :(

My dad, sister and I were all born in Rockford. :)

Cool! I was born in Woodstock believe it or not. We moved down here when I was 2 & 1/2. Sorry about the born part of my post. I like to shock people with the 'born in Woodstock' line. By the way, I'll be 43 this year, so the Woodstock thing is impossible. My Gramma lives in Harvard, but is moving to FLA next weekend. I'm gonna miss her! :) My cousin Randy Blank was a police officer in Rockford, killed in the line of duty on the last day of 1979 around 11 P.M. I believe.

  16. Okay, here goes...I believe that 'ghosts' are demons or familiar spirits, that attach themselves to places, or even people who are open to them. Let me explain... My sister-in-law died in 1989 from cancer. I believe she went to Heaven. She no longer resided here on earth. My husband, myself, and our two children would go every other weekend to 'babysit' for her 7 year old daughter. Several months after she was gone, I would get this very 'uncomfortable' feeling inside when ever we would enter the house. I had never ever felt that way when she was alive, and really didn't know what to make of it. One night, when Anne was getting ready for bed, she told me that her mother came to visit her every night. She would watch her walk down the hallway, sit on her bed, and talk with her. The hair on my neck stood up and I knew that wasn't right. Yes, it could have been her way of coping with her mothers' death, but when accompanied by that 'uncomfortable' feeling, I knew that there was more to it. I also believe in the power of prayer and I prayed that Jesus keep the 'familiar', or 'ghost' if you prefer, away while my family was there. That uncomfortable feeling went away instantly and I've never had that feeling again.

I'm not afraid of them because 'Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.' 'Nuff said. :wow: I didn't realize this was so long until I proofed it! Sorry gang!

  17. Can't say I'm thrilled with DS9 or Voyager. I don't refuse to watch them I'm just not interested in them. I have seen several episodes that were really good in both series but I don't 'stop' to watch like I do for OS and NG. Oh, and I don't concider myself to be narrow-minded either, they don't 'strike my fancy'. :) It doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the shows, they don't interest me.
