    YEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :waaaa:

I do know my voices and faces, when they're not covered by make-up. Voices are my first clue, then I try to place the face.

Yes, that's the one! Silly me forgot to add the detail that, Damon Tog (was that his name?) was trying to 'purchase' Luxwana's 'ablities'. I got busy trying to fix my 'blasted' (being really nice here!) computer right after the first commercial and didn't get back to it! I've seen them all several times, but I've not got them memorized like I do OS. I love flipping through the channels and catching them, OS and NG.

I  to your knowledge of Trek!

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and if you haven't noticed...I've learned how to use the 'move' feature!!!

  2. Ok, to get back on topic, here is my top idea for a new TNG film should one be made.

Geordi is very upset with the tragic loss of his best friend and begins work on trying to access the memories that Data gave to B4 hoping that Data’s essence or soul was also transferred. As B4’s processor is unable to handle the information Data transferred, Geordi had downloaded it into the Enterprise mainframe and has got a response from a being claiming to be Data in the mainframe. Data is now able to walk around the ship as a hologram and appears with human skin tones (no more make up for Mr Spiner). However the being claiming to be Data is expanding and growing across the whole of the Enterprise computer, as the Enterprise becomes it’s extended body and now wants to rid itself of the humans who it considers as a virus to be wiped out, it does this by sending holomonsters to kill the crew. Of course this is not Data and basic point of the film is that we cannot play god, as what was created was not Data but a new being from the incomplete information that Data gave to B4.

Captain Riker and the Titan could be included in the film as he could try to stop the Enterprise controlled by the evil Data impostor as it has impeded Klingon space, hence ambassador Worf could have joined Riker to help stop the Enterprise, this would lead to a good inter-ship battle.

Great idea, but I'm having some problems with it. My first one is...didn't they sort of do that with McCoy and Spock in III? McCoy held the info and went a little 'nuts' with what was stored in his brain? And second...the virus thing is a little old. IMO. To much 'computer virus' stuff going on and it looks like an easy way out. Thirdly...they did the 'we aren't god' thing in V didn't they?

I like the idea of Geordi trying to 'bring back' Data but the other stuff...is a bit over done. I do like the idea though. Maybe there could be trouble between Geordi and Picard when he tries to convince Picard that B4 could be Data, which could never happen because we're all individuals even though we may look/act alike, which brings in the 'cloning issue'. It could be an underlying story behind the Romulan civil war...that would be believable, maybe.

But as I'm reading my post it is so against what Geordi and the crew were trying to get at. Which is that we're all individuals and no one can replace you, whether you're Romulan, Klingon, Andorian, holographic, or if you have a positronic brain.

Sorry this is so long! No offense meant.

  3. Pulaski? I wouldnt trust her to make me toast! Old bag. I would always wprry that he EMH would go a wee bit crazy or unethical or something.

I agree. I didn't like the way she did things anyway. Wasn't she the 'guest star' in the original that was "BLIND"? And the EMH with power failure... 'shiver' Just a thought!

I voted for "Bones" McCoy. I'm with VA, Bones is simply a DOCTOR, and with ddillard, 'old school'! Of course, "Bones" was my first 'cursh' on a tv character.

PS These are my HS colors!

  4. I think promotion or leaving for home is better than killing them off. It leaves things open and the character isn't gone, just 'away'.

Of course, it's hard to 'bring someone back' once they've left. The writers have to come up with a 'believable senario' and going into an "alternate universe" just doesn't cut it with me.

If the actor/actress leaves for a valid reason, ie birth of a child, death of a realitive, taking care of a sick relative/child, etc, then I say by all means bring them back. But if they're leaving because 'they can do better on the big screen' then I say kill them off. The only reason they're 'big stars', or 'popular', is because people see them and love them every week. The ego trip is a very hard vaction to come back from. IMHO :)

  5. It only happens in the winter, but on dark, snowy nights when I'm driving down the street, I imagine the snowflakes are stars whizzing by me at warp speed. I'm the captain of my own Enterprize taking ambasidors (sp) to a distant planet. It's even better out in the middle of no where and there aren't any city lights to take away the 'zooming' effect of the lights on the snowflakes. It is so cool. My kids swear I'm nuts. They won't let me play 'captain' when they're in the car. :) That's okay, I play captain when they're not in the car. Does anyone else do something that's "Trekish"?

  6. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!! :)

    Click for Spoiler:

Okay gang, the only thing I see in my head right now is Picard, Kirk, or Janeway, sitting on the crapper trying to 'pinch a loaf', the alarms are screaming, the lights are flashing, and the bridge crew is wondering were the Captain is! "Hang..." grunt..."on!"..."hah!" Sorry for the vulgarity there. Do Vulcan's go the same way as humans? What about Klingons? Can you imagine Worf's toliet?

  7. '96 Dodge Caravan, but I'm looking for something else. Ali and I are the only ones who ride in it now so it seems kinda big. I like the 'Jella' as Ali calls it, or VW Jetta, and a Ford Mustang. I really want the Mustang...always have, but my honey keeps pushing me towards the Jetta.

I had a Jetta once and named it Yoda, no it wasn't green. As most know, Yoda was a...Jetta Knight... *Ducking as things start flying* You should have heard my brother in law when I told him. He groaned and shook his head. I know, it's sad.

  8. I thought they had some really good storylines too.

Hey, do you think we could get a HUGE petition going? Something like...

WE WANT THE CARTOON...WE WANT THE CARTOON...WE WANT THE CARTOON!

Do you think if we chanted that outside the paramount offices they'd listen?

    Katy

I hope everyone knows I'M JOKING!!! I'm a Lt. now, I can do that!:bow:

  9. Does anyone know, or is it posted somewhere, will they be releasing, or have they released, the animated ST on VHS or DVD? If they haven't they should! One of my fave eppies is the one where Spock goes through the Gaurdian to help his younger self. He tells Sarak that he's a distant relative, an Uncle, I believe. Excellent show! I would buy the set just for that one show. :)

  10. THANKS EVERYBODY!!!!! I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I didn't even realize that I had been promoted until I posted and looked at my avatar!

That tells you how alert I am! B)

  11. If you had a vision of God come to you and ask you to kill someone to show your love, do you:

    a. Kill the person to show your love for God and do his work.

    b. Assume that God would never ask you to break one of his commandments and believe that the vision that came to you was the work of the Devil.

What would you do?  :) B)

Okay, we must be stuck on the 'kill' part of this question. I've had a couple of days to think about it and I still stand by my first 'gut' response, but something keeps drawing me back to the original question. If God really needs me to 'kill' to prove/show my love then I wouldn't want to love that 'God'. My love, any love, that is freely given, is WAY better than a love that HAS to be proven. My husband didn't have to kill anybody to 'prove/show' he loved me, he just loves me, Trek and all. B) I think that's a Godlike love. IMHO.

    An addional .02 cents worth

  12. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Look at the story of Abraham and Issac. Issac was the promised son and God asked Abraham to kill him. Abraham had the faith that God knew what he was doing, so he followed through with what God asked. His knife was on the way down when the angel stopped him. He made a way out for Abraham and Issac he'd make a way out for me too. I think it would be one of the hardest decisions I'd have to make though. There would have to have a purpose behind it, not just to find out if I loved him or not. He already knows I do. Abrahams' story is a test of faith, wheither or not he believed what God told him about his 'seed' and his being the father of many nations, not wheither he love God or not. On the other hand, we as people, do not do animal sacrifices for redemption of sin any more so there is no real reason to 'sacrifice' a loved one because God asked you to. He's already done the ultimate sacrifice by his own son's death on the cross, so why would he ask me to do what he's already done himself? He knows how badly it hurts when a loved one dies so there would be no reason what so ever to ask me to go through the same hurtful pain.

    Just a thought...

Sorry if I was preaching... it is Sunday morning

  13. That would rock as an idea...  accept for the fact that the Borg are millenia old.  If not for that, it could work!

Just one question Cap...is there time in space?

Something to make you go...hummmmmm. :)

    Katy

    (Just being a stinker.)

Yes, there is time in space. The big question is: How does time pass in other regions of the cosmos in relation to Earth? Hmm...

So...Shatner's idea could possibly work then...given that we really don't know how the 'clock' ticks on "Planet Borg".

    Katy

    (Still being a stinker.) :)

Please don't be offended, I'm just enjoying this thread.

Well, if Decker and V'Ger became one, then travelled hundreds of thousands of years back in time, and settled on a planet... then tried to add a civilization to itself... perhaps THAT could be how the Borg happened, but that's just a little bit far fetched!

You really think so? This is Trek ya know. Trek can do anything, and it would sure 'splain alot!

    Katy

    (New day, new Stinker!) :)

  15. John Billingsley "Phlox" had a cameo in an episode of Roswell and guest starred in an episode of Stargate SG-1

Hmm...  Let's see here...  Aside from obvious stuff like Levar Burton being in Reading Rainbow, that's all I can think of for now.[/glow]

Of course Levar was also in Roots, along with several others from the ST universe.

John Delancie (sp) was also on Days of Our Lives years and years ago as off-the-wall scientist, Eugene Bradford. (I think that was his last name, it's been so long ago.) That was when I fell in love with him. When he joined Trek as Q it made me so happy! :) Oh, and who was the other actor who was in the SG-1 eppy with Billingsly? I loved that eppy! The only one I've seen of SG-1. They started arguing about trek. Hilarious. I remember now, it was the actor who plays Harold on The Red Green Show.

  17. I think the original ? was...

Does anyone else get annoyed by pollitical correctness in this aspect?

Yes, being PC has made me angry! It was okay at first, because most of the complaints were valid. Then they went to far. Now you're afraid to say anything to anyone for fear of a lawsuit. I'm surprised the PC'ers haven't tried to pull Blazing Saddles off the shelves of stores. The one movie that I want to see and will NEVER EVER see again, is The Song of the South by Disney. I saw it in 6th grade for our crossing guard party at the theater and I liked it. I would love to see it again but the PC'ers got to it before anyone was able to object. It's really sad. Will they be going after Trek next because there are 'too many men and not enough women' in it? It's just so sad when you think about it. MHO. No offense meant to anyone.
