When NASA sent astrounaunts in space, they discovered that ballpoint pens didn't work without gravity. They spent years, and a great deal of money developing a pen that could write in zero-gravity. The Russians used a pencil.

Um, I hate to tell you this, but space pens have been around for a long time. I have had one of these pens since 1986.

I own a Space Pen!

Mines can write underwater, in the extreme temperatures of both cold and seering heat, in the zero-gravity vacuum of space, and at any angle! :cool1:

 

Too bad it doesn't shoot lasers though.

I keep it in my pocket-protector.

i don't know about space pens ,but i know if we keep oing we be in space soon be able go from our house..this will be cool..so its odd nasa take pens up when theres other thing we could be doing..

Dude.. Astronauts need to write too. N.A.S.A. has been using these pens since the Earthican year of 1965...
