NAVY]ANCHORS AWEIGH

Click for Spoiler:

[Verse 1]

Stand, Navy, out to sea, Fight our battle cry;

We'll never change our course, So vicious foe steer shy-y-y-y.

Roll out the TNT, Anchors Aweigh. Sail on to victory

And sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray!

[Verse 2]

Anchors Aweigh, my boys, Anchors Aweigh.

Farewell to college joys, we sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay.

Through our last night on shore, drink to the foam,

Until we meet once more. Here's wishing you a happy voyage home.

Over hill, over dale

As we hit the dusty trail,

And the Caissons go rolling along.

In and out, hear them shout,

Counter march and right about,

And the Caissons go rolling along.

Then it's hi! hi! hee!

In the field artillery,

Shout out your numbers loud and strong,

For where e'er you go,

You will always know

That the Caissons go rolling along.

Down we dive spouting our flames from under,

Off with one hell-uv-a roar!

We live in fame or go down in flame,

Nothing'll stop the US Air Force!

My choice has nothing to do with certain individuals being a part of the Navy......ok, maybe a little :) but seriously, it was my favorite song even before I met Jim and Gary.

God bless all of our soldiers, those here and abroad.

Actually Jim quoted the original song for the Artillery. The Army Song had the same melody, slightly different words.

I would have to say the Marines have the best song.

There was one time when I was in the Army I was calling cadence and I accidently slipped into singing it. I got all the way up to "We are proud to claim the title of the United Sta..." before I realised what I had done. Our Platoon Sergeant, who was a former Marine himself, didn't say anything. He just laughed and laughed with the rest of the platoon when I realised my mistake.

Man that was embarrassing.

Intro:

March along, sing our song, with the Army of the free

And The Army Goes Rolling Along

Count the brave, count the true, who have fought to victory

And The Army Goes Rolling Along

We’re the Army and proud of our name

We’re the Army and proudly proclaim

For where e’er we go,

You will always know

That The Army Goes Rolling Along.

Verse:

First to fight for the right,

And to build the Nation’s might,

And The Army Goes Rolling Along

Proud of all we have done,

Fighting till the battle’s won,

And the Army Goes Rolling Along.

Refrain:

Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hey!

The Army’s on its way.

Count off the cadence loud and strong (TWO! THREE!)

For where e’er we go,

You will always know

That The Army Goes Rolling Along.

Verse:

Valley Forge, Custer’s ranks,

San Juan Hill and Patton’s tanks,

And the Army went rolling along

Minute men, from the start,

Always fighting from the heart,

And the Army keeps rolling along.

Refrain:

Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hey!

The Army’s on its way.

Count off the cadence loud and strong (TWO! THREE!)

For where e’er we go,

You will always know

That The Army Goes Rolling Along.

Verse:

Men in rags, men who froze,

Still that Army met its foes,

And the Army went rolling along.

Faith in God, then we’re right,

And we’ll fight with all our might,

As the Army keeps rolling along.

Refrain:

Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hey!

The Army’s on its way.

Count off the cadence loud and strong (TWO! THREE!)

For where e’er we go,

You will always know

That The Army Goes Rolling Along.

Air Force, with Navy a second.

On mottoes:

Semper fidelus (sp) is a good motto (always faithful). But I do find it amusing that "semper paratus" (always prepared) is shared with the Boy Scouts.
