The Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

The Fellowship of The Ring,and The Two Towers were unbelievably good films.I loved every second of them.Its hard to believe that anybody was able to take Tolkien's literary vision and translate it onto film so brilliantly,but it has been done to my satisfaction.Middle-Earth seems so real,you could almost reach out and touch it there on the screen,and the actors have all done superb jobs.

I think that the LOTR films will be for this generation what the original Star Wars films were for the mid-70's-to-early 80's.Perhaps,LOTR will have an even greater impact in time.Ths is film making and storytelling the way it has always been meant to be! :angry:

Hmmm-

 

Well, both Alien and Superman are Tetralogies, not Trilogies. Same with Lethal Weapon and Revenge of the Nerds. If you include Alien Vs. Predator, then the Alien films number five, not three.

 

Planet of the Apes is also five films, six if you include the dreadful Tim Burton remake.

 

Best film trilogy? Tough call:

 

Lord of the Rings? Too long.

The Godfather? Great until Part III.

Star Wars? Before 1983- Great...After 1983...Bleh!

The Matrix? Part one is a masterpiece, part two is "okay"...part three was terrible.

 

Only the Evil Dead films actually get better...so I'd go with them.
