Sara_Paris 0 Posted April 3, 2010 (edited) Shakes us from our American complacency. The truth that this war rages on while we sit on our couches, pondering the mundane and meaningless existence of our lives. Who got voted off American Idol, how warm ill it be tomorrow, what sort of outfit would look best on me since I gained ten pounds? See the movie. Rethink your priorities. trekz 7 Posted April 3, 2010 Defintely a movie that should get people thinking and moving. Living in, but not from, Chicago similarly frustrates me. People take corruption, greedy politicians, poor schools, gangs, and school children getting shot in other neighborhoods as a fact of life. Only 28 % in this city bothered to vote in the last primary, while people in war-torn Iraq and Afghanistan come out in much higher percentages. Voting incumbents out, getting involved in your community, and talking & writing about what you see as wrong and ideas to fix it may help. If enough people could do this, listen to others, and realize that the people do have power ... if they would just get off the couch and work to make things better - things could become better.
