Bicentennial of birth of Darwin and Lincoln

Next week marks the bicentennial of the birth of both Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln on the same day two hundred years ago. These two accomplished men are being celebrated around the world. I will be spending part of the week in Springfield, Illinois and the area taking in Lincoln remembrances and programs.

That is an odd combination of people to be born on the same day - I wonder what they would think of our world - I wonder if they'd be surprised at their legacy - is it what they imagined or hoped.
