Snail mail addresses for tomorrow/must write!

Recommended Posts

It's time. Smallville premieres tomorrow and its fan at the TrekBBS--yes, that's the Trek BBS--have declared that it will be a like a "nuclear torpedo in ENT's side." I kid you not. "Ratings disaster for ENT" is also getting bandied about. If you write no other letters, you must write tomorrow. I'm convinced that it will literally make the difference between ENT's being cancelled for a fourth season or not. I am reprinting the snail mail addys here. Remember what I said? In the bean counting minds of suits, each letter represents a few thousand viewers, just like a Nielsen box. I purchased a box of envelopes and have already addressed them. My letters are short and sweet. You don't have to compose a masterpiece.

Dear Mr. Moonves,

I am sending this correspondence to make you aware, since UPN does not reach every market in the country, that I watched the October 1 episode of "Enterprise" and continue to be appreciative of the efforts made to improve the series. I watch every week and will continue to watch. I am writing to make you aware of my viewership since Nielsen numbers cannot be truly representative of "Enterprise's" audience numbers as long as UPN doesn't reach every market and a significant number of viewers have to watch weekend repeats on FOX or other stations.

Sincerely,

Dorian Thompson

That's all you have to say to them. One stinking paragraph in six letters. Insert the appropriate name. Be polite. Can we do it, people? It's so vital. Letters saved "Angel" from cancellation. Its ratings were lower than ENT's ratings. All we have to do is convince them that an audience exists. If 20 people wrote letters from here, think how many viewers that would represent to the bean counters. Below are the addresses of the bean coutners who matter. Do it. I have a full time job and this will make 18 letters for me. Hell, copy mine and write them ahead of time to save time. Change a word or two around. I know we can get this done.

Okay folks, I'm hearing from my Canadian buddies that "Rajiin" is pretty darn good. Look at the addresses above. Write your letters. Very important. It will keep ENT on the air and stop the nagging from yours truly. :saintdevil:

Two weeks ago I faxed and snail mailed, last week I sent by mail + today I will fax the follwing letter:

"Enterprise must go on

Dear Mr/Mrs xxxx,

I have read in the internet that ratings of Enterprise in the US aren't excellent. But since there are so many Star Trek fans all over the world, like me and all of my friends here in Gemany, who are madly looking forward to seeing Enterprise season 3 - and hopefully much more coming seasons - I kindly ask you to use your influence to archieve that Enterprise will go on.

Kind regards from Germany"

Hopefully it will help. If there are any mistakes in it, please let me know.

Way to go ladies and gents!!! :assimilated: I'm proud of all of you. Especially you internationals. You're going the extra mile. I know that we're making a difference. People said that ENT's ratings would drop like a stone after the season premiere and they haven't. If they can remain relatively stable tonight aftr Smallville's premiere ENT might be alright. There may be a slight drop off since season premieres usually draw a little more viewers, so that's why all the letters this week and before this week were so important. The staff took notice of the Hollywood Reporter ad that appeared on September 10 by the ENT Project, so we've got at least a few people's attention. Good. Good.

Folks, the ladies at the ENT project say that of the above list, three of them have the most direct "keep ENT on the air" influence.

They are Leslie Moonves, Earl Lestz, and Kevin Levy. If you want to concentrate your efforts on those three in particular I think that would be most prudent for this week. I can't overemphasize the importance of those three hearing from viewers this week. I'm not exaggerating. If you never write any other letters, go out and get three envelopes and stamps. Mail them tomorrow. Just one paragraph to each of them telling them that you watched the October 1 episode and that you appreciate the new direction. Like I said, each letter represents numbers to them just like a Nielsen box.

Thanks. :assimilated:

Just a damn silly question but, the people we're writing to, what gender is each one?

Cos I don't want to write Dear Mr*** If Ms*** is gonna get it!

Snail Mail from the UK will take a few days though. Are their email links we could also use to tell them how many of us Ent-Surprisers there are out here?

Heads up, good people!! Evay called Paramount directly, and the gentleman on the other end of the line gave this snail mail address to her as somebody who is critical to write to if you'd like to see ENT renewed for next season and beyond. He is in charge along with Dawn Ostroff; he may have more saying power than Ostroff.
