VBG Hurricane update

Recommended Posts

Thanks, the Towncar and Ram actually belong to my neighbor. They have a lot of older trees in their yard and the cars would have sustained A LOT of damage had they stayed in their driveway. The Town Car might end up mine though because Norm, my neighbor has very bad eyes and can no longer drive. I've been debating on if I want to buy it or not. I currently have a '90 Chevy Caviler and a '97 Ford Escort so I'm more used to a compact car.

The Generator held out for about a day and a half before it started spitting oil everywhere, so for 4 of the 5 1/2 days I was pretty much in the dark. I did have a 5" TV hooked up to my car though so I was able to watch a little TV and most important I got to watch Football on Sunday lol.

Here's another video I shot today, video quality isn't great but you can see it.

I enjoy them too, I of course don't want to see anyone hurt or killed. Nor do I want to see anyone homeless because of a storm but I enjoyed watching it. It was amazing to sit on the front porch and watch what nature can do. THe winds were incredible.

Many parts of Norfolk were under water and they came on the radio at the high point of the storm and announced that Area Fire, Police and EMT services were all suspended until further notice. Meaning that if you dial 911 someone would answer but no one would come to your aid.

It's odd but I actually found myself disappointed when the storm was over, I look forward to the next.

You are aware of your insanity, right????

Sanity? I don't need no stinking sanity!

Someone said that they heard another storm was brewing off the coast of Africa, maybe it will head this way.

Excellent picture that shows how huge this storm was with the far edge stretching toward Michigan as it hit.

Hurricanes have always scared me to death, I hope I am never in one, Pittsburgh got hit with the tropical storm remnants of Hurricane Hugo when I was like 9, that was bad enough plus I was in 4 Tornadoes......no I dont like anything that involves high wind, scares the crap out of me! I hope you get prepared and if one hits you good luck!
