The SCI FI Channel has cancelled Stargate Atlantis after five seasons, but the series will continue with movies.

Is it bad that I've yet to see a full episode or movie of anything SG?

This news stinks. Sci Fi network has some of the worst original movies ever. I signed on online petition to keep the show going, though I doubt it will help.

The clock was ticking as soon as they mentioned another series and that SGA would need to make way for it. Man I hoped we'd get a 6th before they pulled the rug. The official statement is today, so lets see what MGM says. I suspect they will give a green to the new show and premiere it around 2010, throw fans of SGA a couple of movies like SG1 and hint at more.

wow, sad to hear that .... but somehow not surprised. Yeah, scifi's not so great.
