Crucible: McCoy, Provenance of Shadows by David R. George III. It's the best Trek book I've ever read, and I've read a lot.

I realy enjoyed Pathways. The backstories of the crew were interesting even though some of them have been contradicted by the show, and the story within the book itself was also good

My favorite is the Star Trek Voyager book "The Black Shore" by Greg Cox.

That book is so exciting, I remember reading it from beginning to end the first time I read it.

All of the main characters get a share in the action and the villains make The Borg look like well-behaved schoolkids.

A masterpiece!
