He Who Shall Not Be Named 2 Posted May 9, 2008 They should get some of the new Battlestar Galactica or Batman talent onboard if "reinventing" is what they want to do. Get people who have reinvented things successfully helping and it stands a much better chance. Otherwise it could turn into a "Planet of the Apes"-style reinventing and no one wants that. Kor37 9 Posted May 9, 2008 It they do to Trek what was done to Battlestar:Galactica, there would be a riot. Who would pay money to see Capt. Jamie Kirk and Mrs. Spock?
Stephen of Borg 2 Posted May 9, 2008 I'm very pro reinventing Trek so it can last longer. Much like Rock bands through the years, sometimes things have to be updated and changed. It's smaller popularity is proof that it is in need of change. I have read reviews from modern scifi fans and Trek makes it usually around #8 to #10 in their top 10 favorite scifis with newer and more modern scifi series making higher on the list. Battlestar Galactica has proven that a "dead" franchise can be reinvented and be successful
ussvwbeetle 0 Posted May 9, 2008 What does he know, after all everyone wanted to his character to die. He does make a good though, let's hope that star trek picks up a nice size crowd of new fans. :)
