Vic 17 Posted April 16, 2008 Robert Picardo on playing Richard Woolsey http://www.trektoday.com/news/160408_02.shtml
ddillard 2 Posted April 17, 2008 Although I like Picardo and the Woolsey character, I am saddened that Amanda Tapping will be leaving the show, with the exception of guest appearances. Samantha Carter has always been one of my favorite characters from Stargate and will miss having the character around.
Theunicornhunter 2 Posted April 17, 2008 I think I read Amanda Tapping will be devoting her energy to an online series - which sounds kind of interesting. I really like her as well - but as an actress - this is like eleven years playing the same character - off topic but watching the special of their appearance at ComicCon was great - the actors seem to get along so well. I think Woolsey in charge of Atlantis is an interesting choice. Picardo does a great job with this character - I can't quite like him but I can't really dislike him either. I wonder if Connor Trinneer will do a recurring guest appearance of Michael - it would be interesting to see them both in the same ep.
ddillard 2 Posted April 17, 2008 Yeah, Tapping is leaving to dedicate her time to Sanctuary, which started as an online series but the SciFi channel has just picked it up for 13 episodes.
trekz 7 Posted April 17, 2008 Amanda Tapping has been one of my favorites on Stargate. I'm sorry to see her leave, but she hasn't been on Atlantis as much as most of the other Atlantis main characters. It's another readjustment, and it will be interesting to see how Wollsey works as head of the Atlantis operation. I enjoy his character with the edge he gives to it and think Picardo is an entertaining actor. I want to see Atlantis continue and this should be an interesting development with different dynamics at work with Woolsey in charge.
