Theunicornhunter 2 Posted March 9, 2008 Drugs found in 28 watersheds foxnews Drugs in Water could affect human cells foxnews Some of these are easily recognizable, ibuprofen is Advil, acetaminophin is Tylenol. But then Prozac is also on the list, estrogen which is used for HRT, several antibiotics and others I didn't look up. And we dont' know what these medications will do to us. Although I have wondered more than once if part of the problems we have as a society - weight gain and anger/agression weren't in some way related to our diets. If we're getting daily does of certain hormones in our water supply it could account for either. If there are agricultural businesses in your area - particularly livestock there could be considerable growth hormones running off into your water supply. I did some research a few year ago - the most common contaminant in Florida's watersheds was dry cleaning fluid.

Geez, will you lighten up already? :P The "evil" makers of Advil aren't out to get you and everyone else via some chemical seeping into your water conspiracy. Unfortunately, there are rare occasions of this stuff happening and because it happens in Florida does NOT mean it is as widespread as your "research" leads you to believe. It was a mere 28 sheds right? That sounds rather insignificant.
RikerChick 5 Posted March 10, 2008 Don't lighten up at all, there's a lot to be mad about. If people would stop believing everything they're told and look into this stuff themselves they would be horrified to find out how badly we're being poisoned. I have no doubts at all that a lot of the health issues we're all having is largely due to our diets. Since switching the family to mostly organic foods our mental and physical health has improved dramatically. Even with that though the water, soil and even the air is still hopelessly contaminated with things that should never enter the human body.

My research had nothing to do with these articles - it was an added observation. There is nothing rare about this nor is it benign. Had you bothered to read the articles you would notice that some of these medications may counteract others that people are taking. Some will aggravate existing medical conditiions - some may put people at risk for developing others. And goodness knows what they're doing to developing embryos. RC - that's great your family has been able to go organic.
