Theunicornhunter 2 Posted August 18, 2007 What actor (male or female) is most likely to attract you to a movie? I don't personally think the star alone is what draws people to movies (I don't know if it was ever that way but there seems to be at least an attitude that some stars are bigger box office draws than others). There's no actor (no, not even Johnny Depp) that will absolutely guarantee I'd go see the movie. The plot and the rating will matter as well. There seem to be more actors that will turn me off from a movie (yeah we're talking Tom Cruise) than there are that will attract. Some of the actors that would at least draw me to consider a movie based on their prior performance or general reputation or even just general appeal (some of them haven't made one if a few years I've wanted to see ) : Leonardo DiCaprio - IMO has most consistently chosen high quality films Johnny Depp Russell Crowe Jodie Foster Skeet Ulrich John Cusack Sandra Bullock Reese Witherspoon Jeff Bridges Hillary Swank Queen Latifah So who's your favorite box office draw? Kor37 9 Posted August 18, 2007 The actors don't matter much to me. My decision to go see a movie at a theater has to do with the subject matter of the movie and whether it looks like an entertaining film. To me, the actors are secondary.
He Who Shall Not Be Named 2 Posted August 18, 2007 Well I would see any movie with Asia Carrera in it. I saw two movies with that pretty boy Leonardo DeCrapio in them specifically because he was in them. He can act, but not as well as he thinks he can. I saw Gangs of New York to watch him get owned by Daniel Day Lewis. I also saw him in The Aviator. Now there is a movie that pleases everyone! DeCrapio fans liked it because he was in it. DeCrapio haters liked it to watch him crash and burn.

trekz 7 Posted August 18, 2007 the coolest man on the planet, Sean Connery. That dude is awesome in every movie he does Too bad that he's officially retired... [/quote/] Yes! I so wish he could have been in the new Indiana Jones movie! There are lots of deceased actors whose movies I love: Jimmy Stewart, the Marx Bothers, James Cagney, John Wayne, Alfred Hitchcock (director but did cameos in many of his films), Katherine Hepburn, etc. Current actors who might draw me to a film: Harrison Ford Helen Mirren Paul Newman Jodie Foster John Cusack Brian Dennehy Clint Eastwood Bruce Dern Alan Alda Meryl Streep that's a start (off the top of my head)
