they interviewed her recently and she said that hasn't been working on the Bond theme, but her new album. I think there is a good chance it will still be Winehouse, but she hasn't confirmed it and they have said that Bassey is still possible

A James Bond stunt driver crashed 007's famous Aston Martin DBS into Italy's Lake Garda Saturday ahead of filming on the secret agent's latest movie, ANSA agency reported.

The unnamed driver was taking the car on to the set of "Quantum of Solace" at 6:00 am (0400 GMT) when he lost control of the vehicle for reasons yet to be established and plunged into the picturesque northern lake.

Sky Italia TV pictures later showed the car being winched back on to dry land, with ANSA reporting that the stuntman -- quickly rescued by firemen -- escaped with only minor bruising.

A source said the car was the only one available for shooting, which has so far seen the crew move from England to Panama, Chile and Mexico.

A further location trip to Spain is planned before its expected late-2008

cinema release.

Aston Martin to be used in James Bond film plunges into Lake Garda; driver slightly injured

ROME: An Aston Martin has been fished out of Italy's Lake Garda after it plunged into the water while being driven to the set of the latest James Bond film.

Producers of "Quantum of Solace" say James Bond's iconic car was being delivered to the filming unit in heavy rain on Saturday morning when it went off the road and into the lake in northern Italy.

Italian state TV has shown footage of the smashed, black car being hoisted out of the water.

Producers say the driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The newest film in the 007 series stars Daniel Craig and is due for release later this year.

Please, ANYONE but Bassey!! She has a voice like a traffic jam. Cannot stand "Goldfinger."

Ok anyone but Bassey and Madonna. "Die Another Day" is the worst Bond theme ever!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates the Goldfinger theme. I do, however, like the Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker themes. Like her or hate her, either way, she is the most famous singer from the Bond franchise.

ROME (AFP) - The shooting of the latest James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" is proving dangerous for stuntmen after a second crash in just five days left one daredevil in intensive care.

Wednesday's accident happened when the car used by two stuntmen rammed into a filming lorry and then into a wall on set near the picturesque Lake Garda in northern Italy, ANSA news agency reported.

One of the two men, a Greek national, ended up in intensive care in a hospital in the nearby town of Verona.

This was not the first accident to befall the crew in recent days after a Bond stunt driver crashed 007's famous Aston Martin DBS into Lake Garda ahead of filming on Saturday.

The unnamed driver was taking the car on to the set when he lost control of the vehicle for reasons yet to be established and plunged into the lake.

A further location trip to Spain is planned.

"Quantum of Solace", the second Bond film to feature 40-year-old British actor Daniel Craig as the suave secret agent is set to be released later this year. The film picks up where the last instalment "Casino Royale" left off.

Is this the first Bond movie that is a direct sequel to the film before it?

No, Diamonds Are Forever is about and starts with Bond looking for Blofeld to get revenge for killing Tracey on On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

yep

According to a friend, the 24-year-old singer had told mates she wants her theme song of upcoming Bond flick 'Quantum Of Solace' to be as timeless like Shirl's Goldfinger.

"While she has been recording in Henley-upon-Thames all she kept saying was how she is desperate to nail this track so it will be a classic like Goldfinger," the Mirror quoted the pal as saying.

"The producers have said they want a contemporary feel with a typical Ronson brass sound. It's going to be a classic. And Dame Amy has a certain ring....," the pal added.

I've got no problems with Winehouse doing the song, I've been a fan for a while. I was able to hear her songs before her debut in America and I knew that she would be big when she came over here, and she is. She definitely has talent, despite her personal problems.

Winehouse working on 'Bond theme' Nothing set in stone yet......

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7371949.stm

Amy Winehouse is working on a theme song for the forthcoming James Bond film with Mark Ronson, the producer has confirmed to the BBC.

But Ronson said there are no guarantees the track will be used for Quantum Of Solace as they have not been officially signed up to release the song.

"Hopefully it will get used. We're working on it and we'll see happens," the producer told BBC 6 Music.

Ronson also said he is working with Winehouse on her new album.

He said it was Winehouse who was first approached about the Bond theme tune.

"They asked Amy, and I think Amy said that if she did it, she'd want to do it with me. So hopefully something will come of it," he told the station's Music Week's show.

"The demo sounds like a James Bond theme, hopefully. But I don't know if it'll get used."

He added: "I'm sure there are loads more really famous people that probably we're competing with and we don't know about. I'm not sure.

"But hopefully I'll still be alive for at least 12 more Bond themes. If we don't get this one maybe we'll get another one."

It's official, Winehouse is not doing the Bond theme

Amy Winehouse has abandoned recording the theme to the latest James Bond film because the singer is not ready to work, her producer said Friday.

Mark Ronson, who produced much of Winehouse's Grammy-winning "Back to Black," said the soul diva is "not ready to record any music."

Ronson said the two started work on the track for the upcoming Bond movie "Quantum of Solace" but it would take "some miracle of science" to finish it, he said in an interview with Sky News.

Winehouse's troubles with drugs, law enforcement and her rocky romance with her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil have kept the singer in the spotlight.

Police gave her a formal warning last week after she scuffled with two men during a raucous night out.

Good. This British freak show is destroying her career just like Britney Spears did over here.

Irish actor PIERCE BROSNAN almost rejected his role in movie-musical MAMMA MIA! - because he feared looking silly in front of his JAMES BOND replacement DANIEL CRAIG.

http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf...0craig_1069055

Brosnan, 55, played 007 in four of the action series' films before turning over his role to Craig for 2006's Casino Royale.

And although Brosnan doesn't regret his decision to retire as James Bond, he admits he was scared his all-singing and dancing role as Sam Carmichael in the 1970s ABBA-inspired film would be too far a departure from his days as the British spy.

He says, "I drew the drapes in my dressing room, looked in the mirror, and there was 007 - only he was getting ready to expose himself to possible ridicule by starring in a movie musical called Mamma Mia!

"One of my daydreams was that I'd be strutting across the parking lot in sequined tights and a cape, and I would bump into Mr. Daniel Craig, looking very Bond-like. It never happened, I'm pleased to say."

they are now saying that Beyonce Knowles may replace Winehouse to do the Bond theme. I'm not posting the article, 'cause frankly, I'm tired of talking about who is doing the theme lol. I just thought I'd give a small update. Winehouse is doing it, then not, is, not, is, not, Bassey is, Bassey not, Beyonce. It gets old
